He was in the COVID class which gives him an extra year, and I think since he didn't play a single minute at Minnesota that he's using a medical to get another year of eligibility? But yeah, 7 years and five schools is correct.

Would love to see Simmons come down to Athens from Toledo. A bit undersized for the position (6-7), but still a productive, old-school post player. Just what the doctor ordered for Ohio.

So if I’m reading this right…

19-20: Freshman at NIU
20-21: Sophomore at NIU
21-22: Sophomore at Ball State (Covid bonus year)
22-23: Junior at Toledo (medical redshirt, only played 9 games)
23-24: Redshirt Junior at Toledo
24-25: Redshirt (?) at Minnesota (never played)
25-26: “Double Redshirt Senior” at TBD

When he’s all done, he can write an anthology about basketball in the upper Midwest. Maybe he wants to tour Michigan next? Iowa? Insane that this is even possible!

Wish Elmore well. Thank goodness he didn't leave the team entirely mid-season. But it's time for a fresh start.

I hope the door is open for Elmore to stay. A senior guard who has done a lot of positive things for us shouldn't be understated. I like him as a sixth man on next year's squad but that may not interest him.

Has to have felt underutilized. Really showed some ability to hit 3’s but not sure he had the green light some others appeared to have. With all sincerity I wish him well where ever he lands next.
