Haven't followed this board much regarding TBT news, but is there a chance OU could reboot its alumni team for future years?

Regarding this year, former Bobcat Ethan Jacobs was on Purple Hearts this summer. Had a basket in Saturday's first-round loss to the Ohio State alumni team. For those who don't remember, Jacobs played seldomly his two years in Athens before transferring to Colgate, but he was part of the 2012 Sweet 16 squad.

After everyone jumped down his throat last year, I'm not sure the GM will show his face around here ever again.

But he would be the person to ask.

With most things, it comes down to funding. TBT players are being paid now too. It takes as much cash to field a team as we probably need to spend on keeping someone like Elmore James.

I’m trying to understand how it works, but can’t seem to figure it out.

I remember that thread, one of the more ridiculous threads I've seen on here.

It’s gotten too big for us. Mid-American Unity is the most viable route for our alumni.

Well, Jason Preston and Ben Vander Plas are interested in forming an Ohio team for TBT 2025

I donated. Would love to see an OU based team in a meaningful tournament.

Even if i had microscopic interest level in this tbt, I can't imagine giving any money to this instead of just giving it to the actual college program with actual students, or even the nil, which makes me throw up in my own mouth. Ohio athletics asking for money for this tournament is just weird.

I agree. Also is it really that expensive of an endeavor? Is it about travel and lodging of the players? Do other Universities financially support their alumni team?

Interesting to see Boals make a $500 donation to TBT2024.

I hope he's also donating to the 1804 NIL Collective.

+1,000,000

If you are going to donate anything to Ohio Men's basketball....send it to the 1804 NIL Collective. Donating your money to TBT2024 is ridiculous.
