I'll admit my bias right up front because Yale head coach James Jones was my former next door neighbor here in Athens. Going back to 1979 when we moved to Athens, is there a former assistant coach who has gone on have greater success as a head coach? This two years in a row the Ivy champ has taken out a highly favored opponent and second time for Yale since 2016 (Baylor).

Would Holtmann qualify?

I saw that Jamall Walker is on staff at GCU who upset St Mary's.

Fran Fraschilla who coached at New Mexico, St Johns and Manhattan probably would have a better win percentage than Jones. However Fran didn’t have the longevity that James Jones has at Yale.

.640 to .624 for Fraschilla
