I can't even recall if it gets crowded right after all the colleges graduate. Is it a popular place in early to mid May? That's when all the waterfalls are going on because the snow all melted, right? I don't really want to go when it's overrun with party situations but would enjoy going.

During the week you can have the run of the place. On the weekends, things pick up a bit but the fall with the leaves is the more popular time. Where are you thinking about staying and dining?

I might get a nice cabin and go to places like that Millstone or Millbrook (?) - nothing too formal. Week of May 11th maybe? Probably stop and see the "Serpent Mounds" on the way up.

That week should be fine. You'll miss the Mothers Day weekend crowds and the only folks out will be retired travelers. Leaves should be out as well as the dogwoods.

While visiting Serpent Mound you should drive into Peebles and eat at a local restaurant. The local businesses along Main Street could really use your dollars.

Also stop by Athens if you have the time. Ohio won't be in session then so it shouldn't be crowded at all. Nothing beats Athens in May!!

Athens in May isn't what it used to be before the change to semesters. It very easy to park anywhere you wish though.

Week days are best. Make sure to go Conkle's Hollow just past old man's cave. Also, LA Cascade is the best to eat at and it is near Millstone.
