Top 12

# 1 Florida (Ryan was an assistant coach)
2     Illinois
3     Nebraska
4     Penn St.
5     UNI     ( we lost to this team last year)
6     Stanford
7     California
8     Hawaii
9     Duke     ( We wont this team last year)
10     Minnesota
11     Southern California
12     Dayton (Cats' nearby, non-conference rival)

MAC Teams

#40 WMU
47 NIU
59 EMU ???
68 BSU
88 OHIO ***
103 CMU
136 Toledo
147 Akron
163 Kent St
167 Buff
203 Miami
209 BG

Interesting Points,
- The results this year have been very unpredictable and the division leaders change weekly.
- MAC West division teams are dominating esp NIU and BSU. The East division leader has the W-L records at the middle level of the West division.
- Leading teams lost to much lowest rank teams ex. NIU, WMU and Akron lost to Toledo, the lowest rank team in the West division.

Trends: BSU and NIU stay solid. Akron started to loss energy. Ohio is picking up itself. BG and Kent State are probably looking for a new coach.

Interesting. From the games I've seen, I would agree that WMU and NIU should receive the highest rankings, in that order. But I don't see Eastern 59 and OHIO 88. Based on last night's game, I think we're a better team.

Losing home games will drop the RPI like a stone.

Is volleyball the MAC's best sport? Those RPIs are higher than you'd see in men's or women's basketball or football. I'm not familiar with all of the sports, but i know women's soccer, baseball and softball in the MAC do not compete at a level that high right now or in recent years. Ohio doesn't have men's soccer, and Akron is ranked No. 1 in the nation, but I don't think the other schools in the leaue compete at an especially high level. There are only six field hockey teams in the MAC and one is a member just for field hockey.

Probably men's soccer or wrestling.
