Kent St. wins 7-6 in 21. Second longest game in NCAA Tourney history.
Some crazy numbers. A couple of Kent St. players with 10 at-bats. KSU pitchers hit 6 UK players. UK's catcher had 28 putouts. UK left 23 on base.
It took 6:37 to play and was the first game of a 2-game session.

Kentucky left runners at second and third with two outs in the bottom of the 21st.
One Kentucky player went 0 for 9, while another was 5 for 7 with two walks. Kent State had a guy go 5 for 10 and other was 0 for 6 but walked four times. Each team made one error, pretty good for 21 innings. Kentucky's losing pitcher went nine innings. The starter lasted only 3 2/3.

Excellent win. This on top of last years 2 wins in a Regional. Kent State definitely has been the class of the MAC for the last 20 years. They just keep reloading. Kent has an IPF but their facilities are no better than ours. There's no reason our program couldn't get to this point now that we have cut the coaching deadweight.

One difference that helps Kent is that they get lots of local players. The Cleveland and Akron area have some excellent players. Some seem to go away for one year and then return and go to Kent. Since in baseball you don't have sit out, they play right away. There just isn't the local talent around Athens. I think Kent has three pitchers from Walsh Jesuit on their team and I know one of them went to Virginia out of high school. They also have the pitcher that used to be at Ohio, Bores.

Rematch tonight at 8:00. BTN is now stuck carrying a regional final with no B1G team thanks to Purdue losing today
If Kentucky wins tonight, they do it for a third time tomorrow night

Big 10 Network decides to show the Kansas State - Purdue Alamo Bowl from 1998 instead of the Big10less regional game.

I am almost sure on of their top pitchers was at Virginia last year and transferred and played this year. I think football and basketball are the only two that you need to sit out one year.

It's Tyler Skulina. He transferred after the fall of his freshman year at UVA. He is a sophomore now. Had to sit a year.

Of course, the Super Regional has only existed since 1999. The last MAC school in the College World Series was Eastern Michigan in 1976, so the Golden Flashes are two wins away from breaking that major drought. They'll be facing Oregon, which also went 3-0 to win its regional.

One hell of a year for the MAC...
Football best Bowl winning percentage (tied w/ CUSA at 4-1)
Basketball Sweet 16 (Ohio)
Baseball at least Sweet 16/Super Regional (Kent State)
