Been watching some videos on this incoming class, dare I say and not wanting to jinx it, this is probably Boals' most talented class he's had coming in? Mosley and Kelly have college level bodies to play from day one, and Fisher has a ton of upside. I think their biggest issue is going to be getting enough playing time just because of the logjam on the wings at the moment. But, as E2 showed this year, and AJ Brown the years before him, if you're good enough Boals will find time for you.

JJ Kelly - have a feeling this is going to be our energy guy and fans are gonna love him. He's all over the court, plays both ways and is a high flyer. We're probably gonna see some of Shab's OMGDUNKS from him in the near future. I think he'll slide right in next to Hadaway in the energy department. I really, really like what he could bring to the table. I don't know much about his competition over there in PA, but he looked to be the big fish in the small pond, so a step up in competition could be something to watch.

Zay Mosley - The most inside-out of the three, someone compared him to VonCameron Davis at Kent State. My first thought was a more widely skilled, but less strongly built Terran Harbut. That kind of guy could become a key piece to a winning team; does all the little things right and scores/rebounds when you need it most. His biggest challenge I think we'll depend on where Boals sees he fits. Is he another "big" for this team? If so, he's a little undersized at the moment.

Jordan Fisher - Seems to have the highest upside if he can build his body around his game. Great length and shooting ability, and has played against top competition around the Columbus area. Definitely needs to hit the weight room, but his attributes are something this squad needs. I'm actually probably more interested in his Sophomore year to see how well he's gelled with the current team while also bringing in his current mates McKinney and Bowens.

The thing I keep having to realize is that these guys are going to be freshmen and will have their freshman growing pains. Let's assume there are no transfer outs - there will be five freshmen on the roster including redshirts, and I don't know that there will be room in the rotation for more than two of them to play regularly. The roster overall will be longer and more athletic in the wing positions, but we are not a longer and more athletic team if those players aren't in the rotation.

Physically, Kelly looks the most ready from what I've seen on film and when I saw all of them together at the UNC-Asheville game. Remember he had D1 football and track offers. The Mosley film I've seen he probably needs another 15 pounds to make his style effective at the next level. I'll throw another player comparison at him - A'uston Calhoun of BG a little over a decade ago. If Fisher can shoot, I think he'll find a spot immediately. I'd love it if he could be that second ball handler on the floor so we could open up the possibility of three out of four of Fisher, Kelly, Mosley, and Kuany together eventually.

Kelly and Mosley look like the most physically ready, with the latter hindering on where Boals see's him playing -- as previously mentioned. He could probably be masked as a stretch 4 with more weight, but ideally playing the 3.

As a whole, I agree that this incoming class is more length and athleticism on the wings. Given that the current roster combo feels like its peaked, I'd also like to see a path open to more PT amongst this group.

Seeing how explosive Elliot is, I hope Boals will rip the the band-aids off those who appear ready sooner than later next season. This all being said, I do think a few guys will need to leave. We're just housing too many of the same types of players.

You have to really treat it like one year contracts for guys who can't play D-One or have lost their way. Have to believe schollies open up with Nicol and Sheldon. If Nicol can't play 30 meaningful seconds on this roster, he won't next year.

Yea, I agree. I respect Boals' desire for continuity and culture, but you can only take that so far in today's landscape without potentially sacrificing W's.

👀would be a good late add. Only 7’1 lol but he’s the definition of raw. I’d say the ceiling would be a Sylvester Ogbonda. Which I would be happy with.
