Here is a shortlist of in-state prospects that I think are attainable for Ohio that we should give more attention than we already are

Amari Davis, 6-4 SG, Trotwood-Madison. Offers from Miami, IUPUI, Cleveland State, and Toledo. Offensive dynamo - should be at the top of our list.

Abba Lawal, 6-11 C, Withrow. Offers from Miami, Cleveland State, Stony Brook, Akron, and Toledo.

Andre Gordon, 6-2 PG, Sydney. Offers from Illinois State, Grand Canyon (???), Kent, and Akron. Also a quarterback prospect, we have offered in football.

Brison Waller, 6-9 PF, Garfield Heights. Offers from Pitt, James Madison, Miami, Youngstown State, Cleveland State, Buffalo, and Kansas State

Greg Tribble, 6-2 PG, Winton Woods. Offers from Stony Brook, Toledo, Kent, Youngstown State, and Morehead State.

Good list

Why the ??? for Grand Canyon.

Dan Marjerle is making a legit run at being a coach. Have been watching their ascencion in D1. They have great facilities, excellent fan support and are sitting at 20-10. Not too hard to recruit an Ohio kid to play out there. In a diminished WAC they could soon rule the roost. They are sitting at 110 on KenPom...we are at 197 and most of the MAC is lower than the ANtelopes.

I like the thought process assembling the list

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It just surprises me that anyone in Ohio is on Grand Canyon's radar. BTW, I saw that GCU is trying to make a move back to non-profit status.

The one kid that we've already seen being recruited that I would really like is the Etherington kid out of Indiana. Comes from a basketball family with a good pedigree, athletic and can shoot/pass/defend. Getting looks from bigger programs. He checks the boxes and seems like he fits this team.

Other than him I like your list too. And the Roderick kid from Columbus is interesting. Dad went here and he was leading scorer in Central Ohio this year. But he's coming off an injury, so who knows if they even want to go down that road again.

We HAVE to get another PG and we HAVE to get an athletic 6-6 to 6-8 guy who can bang and hit the outside shot. We have too many Etherington type players on this roster already. We will need someone to be Doug Taylor with bounce. I also think developing a backup to Kirk is essential.

Kind of the same sentiment when Groce was loading up on athletic 2s and 3s and someone said something about "Wing U"... now we're talking about too many 3s and 4s .

Mildly surprised the words "white" and "unathletic" were not in the thread.

Personally I don't think you can have enough 6'6"-6"8" tall guys who can step out and shoot but also play in the system. You want bounce? Go to Etherington's Twitter page. He's got plenty of bounce.

I'll agree on the PG though. I think that's one thing the staff failed on when recruiting while Jaaron was still here. They never recruited a backup until it was too late. Can't do that again.
