We have two spots left to fill if Tone is not allowed back. Lets go full court press on Ernst (3 full yrs left) and LePear Toles (freshman). Both are ready to play now. Saw Toles a ton in HS. And a year at prep can only help.

I like Toles as well.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

+1. Hopefully he doesn't follow Dambrot to Duquesne or go to Akron and stay at home. But we shall see on this one.

I would be surprised to see both scholarships used on Toles, and Ernst. I like them both, but it seems like the pursuit of another PG would keep one of them off the roster, knowing what we know now.

To me the ideal scenario is Tony being granted one more year, and finding that PG, whoever it may be, that they are seeking. Since that seems to be unlikely in Tony's case, I'd expect we'll see a transfer big guy that is eligible immediately, and another PG or combo guard. For that reason, I see Toles as being an unlikely signee at Ohio.

Yes I hear we plan on playing Butler more at the 2 or 3, so we do need a PG. coach SP can go PG or wing.

We definitely need to look for a point guard if Jaaron leaves!!! Still feeling sick at the thought of him leaving. That's why we need to get him a transfer big to go with Jason Carter and another athlete he can play with. Make your point guard happy by giving him weapons..that's the key. All I know is that I heard from a source close to OSU that things are ready to fully implode there with guys getting kicked off or told to leave. Perhaps this will keep Jaaron from going to a Thad-less program.

Why be sick at the thought of him leaving? To this point, I haven't seen anything to indicate that is going to happen. Nothing at O$U, nothing from Jaaron. Unless something surprises and scouts say he's going to be a top 20 pick, the NBA declaration is an journey in getting smarter and better for next year's draft potential.

That aside, and I've said it a million times, teams can never have enough good ball handling guards. It's proven time and again in March that teams don't win without them. Based on offers and recruiting efforts over the last couple years, Saul & Co are after a PG regardless of what Jaaron chooses to do in the next month or so.

Kinda curious where you've heard this. Currently, Mr. Butler is a little slender to be playing the 3, don't you think? I could maybe see a year from now with weight room time.
