I want him!  Size with handle!  Would be a great get. It is amazing how the last few years have elevated our recruiting profile.  We are in the hunt for some outstanding players.  If were able to get him and Javon Bess, this would have to be our best recruiting class ever (from a hype standpoint).  A shot blocking big man, a skilled combo forward with guard skills and a stud guard.

Have not seen Aldredge play.  Saw Bess play 3 times in Feb-March.  Thought he was just OK.  Perhaps he's having a good summer.  But based on what I saw,  he'd add little to the program...

Aldridge announced this week he will not play football this fall in order to concentrate on Basketball.

I think he was a good  QB at the HS level last season..

This article says that Peyton Aldridge and another recruit we've offered for 2014 (Gavin Skelly) are AAU teammates and are looking to play college ball together.
http://northwestern.scout.com/2/1301980.html
That article also mentioned academics being a big factor, which I like to see when both us and Akron have offered.

I think one or both of these two kids would be a great fit for this recruiting class and the program. Adding these two next to Tariq Owens would be awesome. Then you still have 2 spots left, with one surely going to a point guard.

Tape looked good.  Assuming he winds up playing the 3?  It seems like he has the coordination, ball-handling skills, and athleticism to do it.  Would also be great length on the perimeter.

Owens, Aldridge, Skelly, McCormick (the 2-guard from Turpin), and a PG to be named later would be the perfect recruiting class for 2014.

No doubt. Plus we'll have Rio as a transfer.

I really want McCormick. He'd be a perfect fit for this class with his scoring ability.

edit:
Every indication I have seen has McCormick as a 2 but these rankings have him as the top PG prospect in Ohio.
http://tripledoubleprospects.com/player-rankings/2014-player-rankings/
That site also has Aldridge and Skelly as the #2 and #3 ranked PF's in the 2014 class.

Aldridge has made unofficial visits to Akron, Boston College, Cornell, Miami (OH), Northwestern, Ohio, Princeton, Toledo and William & Mary. Last month, he took his first official visit to Davidson.

Every staff misses on most targets.
