Very cool. I remember hearing a podcast interview with Cromer where she talked about CJ and how impressed she was by him. Great to see us giving him a springboard into a very competitive field.

Maybe one of the best moves Cromer has made as AD, IMHO. I was always real high on CJ Harris. Very intelligent young man.

BTW, did CJ graduate from UCB?

Interesting.

Doesn't he also have like two or three years of eligibility left? He left here as a Senior and ended up as a sophomore at Cal.

I would think he has 1 year left. 2020 would have been a covid year, 2021 a redshirt, and he played in 2022-2024. I think he'll be a great hire.

Did he retire, or get forced out by a sexist, narcissistic boss? Makes you think.

Correct, but don't think CJ's role is filling that one from what I've heard. CJ is in charge of the Bobcat Club, but Ken handled football donors, or maybe just large donors.

Excellent question. I hadn't thought about that possibility, but it does bear further investigation. Maybe the crack, elite investigative journalism team at the Athens Messenger can start working on revealing all the questionable activities in the AD's office. A Pulitzer prizes surely awaits those that get to the bottom of this "bigger than Watergate" scandal. The world will be forever grateful for your tip, and your name will echo down the corridors of time like John Dean and Daniel Ellsberg.

I believe Spencer is moving up into that role which, BTW, is not an Athletics job...he will be reporting to the Advancement Office.

You already have an anonymous source, my man. You mentioned them in the Volleyball coach thread. Any prizes are headed your way. You're way ahead of the game on this and already investigating Cromer -- you're just doing it in the capacity of a creep instead of as a journalist.

And you're in good company, too. Esteemed BobcatAttack posters BillyTheCat and Bobcat1996 also claim insider knowledge on Cromer, allude to it in vague ways, but never share any specific details. And anytime you can stand united with Bobcat1996 and BillyTheCat, you gotta do it. You're in great company here.

Keep fighting the good fight.

You seem to have very little sense of humor. Lighten up, My Man! ;-)

You people keep supporting this administration for numerous mistakes. I refuse to give them a hall pass for the constant blunders! Get back to me in four years after the football program has three consecutive ten plus win seasons! And while you are at it, how about the mens hoop team finishing better than a fifth seed yearly with the highest paid coach in the league. And I’m sure everyone is attending the womens BB games. That program is testing it up!

I feel sorry for you, I truly do.

One thing you are awesome at is "Cut & Paste" the same old sh1t".

But seriously I hope you have resources you can engage to deal with your "obsession". I heard the dog recovered and all is well in Charlotte.

As I said in another post, I've discovered that this poster is in all likelihood Albin's Dog. Now, doesn't that revelation kind of put everything in perspective?

A "hall pass"? Weird word choice and something you might want to dig into with a therapist.

BLUNDERS. A MESS OF IT ALL.

One of my favorite running jokes on this site.

In the last 5 years, between football and basketball OU has two MAC Championships, 4 bowl wins, and an NCAA tournament victory.

No other team in the MAC has a bowl win and an NCAA tournament win.

The administration gets zero credit for the success, and all the hate for "constant blunders".

As always - LOL

Yeah, but we hired an interim replacement for the volleyball coach instead of conducting a search. That's a huge, huge blunder and definitely not a sign of someone weirdly obsessive about the AD looking for something to criticize.

I’ll bite, and just spit balling here. Who hired Boals? And Albin was only choice you had and his contract showed that. Total unknown, and an out for OHIO (not unwarranted either) after two years, with a reward for success. But that wasn’t really go out and hire your own coach.

That being said, OHIO has been very lucky in the fact that we’ve had lots of stability in the coaching ranks. I may be wrong, but the only major sport hire we’ve had under Julie was Tim. VB was a slam dunk being his past run to glory at Ohio. Rob Smith pulled a Frank and left in January when you can’t hire anyone. So what is the hiring record? And that is a curious question and looking for honest responses, not to derail anything. And trust me, my trophy case enjoys adding MAC rings, 15 and counting.
