He said he was declaring for the draft, though I assume thats because he ran out of eligibility. Would be huge to have him return. Having Sieh back will certainly help pad some stats if he truly wants to get some good tape for the NFL.

I’d like to say I’m shocked, but I’d be lying if I did. Courts have been a real head scratcher.

I think that if they rule in favor of Pavia then this absolutely follows. As I said at the time, it seems like it must.

Without a doubt. Eligibility based on anything but academics is done as we know it.

And, how long will academics even be important? I think the clock is ticking.

Depends on the definition of academics. Does it become as long as someone attends classes regardless of a degree or how many degrees?

If seems like the NCAA has gone from having full control to no control at all.

And that anti-trust laws are being applied to the NCAA and not much else around America.... But I digress....

If they want this old fan to pay attention to anything NCAA not Ohio/MAC related they need some common sense rules around all this. If not, why watch the minor leagues when the NFL/NBA/MLB offer a much better product? I used to be a huge all NCAA sports fan. And no longer am.....

There's been some suggestion that current congress/admin is considering an anti-trust exemption for the NCAA. Would be interesting, considering the current Supreme Court's opinion on the matter, but not out of the realm of possibility.

Curious as to where you’ve seen that they are thinking to extend anti-trust exemption? Everything I’ve read is an exact opposite. Just curious.

The head of the commerce committee said so: https://apnews.com/article/ncaa-congress-ted-cruz-nil-0a0...

Edit: What are you reading in the link you shared that suggests the exact opposite? On the House settlement, that link essentially says "Nobody knows what Trump's DOJ will do" and outlines multiple opposite possibilities.

Carson H and Jacob Dennison being healthy is one of the reasons the offensive line was able to
dominate in Detroit. Those guys along with the rest of the OLine were great down the stretch.

I think so. The obvious extension is if you are enrolled in classes you are eligible. in year 8, working on your second masters and phd? you are eligible.

I'm waiting for the lawsuit claiming its discriminatory and a restraint of trade to require a player to attend classes, after all, "I didn't come here to play no school."

That was actually addressed in the latest injunction of eligibility rules. Seems the last bastion of any sort of control.
