I took the time to send an email to express my appreciation and admit that I was wrong to doubt him. He can Coach Ohio for as long as he can, as far as I’m concerned.-

One awful year followed by a solid year (if we lose 2 straight and a bowl game we are 7-6, not exactly apology-worthy). I will wait cautiously optimistically to end this awesome ride and see a Year 3 before I go kissing butt.

Amen!
I've said some less than supportive things and some not at all nice things. Mea culpa, my apologies, I was decidedly wrong. Happy to have T.A. as our coach!

Hopefully this team will win the East, and the MACC too, but the odds are that next year will be an off year. Almost the entire defense will be gone, and that will be difficult to replace, so keep that in mind.

Much of ire was directed at the AD, who deserves a few apologies, too.

I couldn't have been more wrong about Tim.

Taking last year's 3-9 season then starting off this season the way we did (not great) and now rattling off 5 straight MAC wins? That's coaching. That's believing in your team and making improvements each week.

He's made good staffing hires. Talent acquisition in terms of transfers - this is perhaps the best WR unit I have seen at OHIO (been following since 2010) and that's due to transfers. In game coaching and clock management have improved immensely. Last night against Fiami we took the air out of the ball and handled the clock well.

Keep it up, Tim!

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

I was a doubter following last season. It is truly amazing the transformation of the team this season for which I am thankful.

Every time we played that team in red, I was thankful that Frank was our coach vs the one in the stupid red vest (win or lose...but usually win). I am every bit as thankful that Coach Albin is leading our program now.

Agreed. I'm impressed with the turnaround and happy for Albin, who genuinely seems like a good guy. I dropped my pitchfork last month and I'm happy to admit I was wrong, but anointing him after five really solid games in a row seems a tad premature.

+1. we're a Kurtis Rourke injury away from being NIU or WMU or MOFO. He's earned the last two years of his contract but the sample size is still too small to go all in on him.

Yep. My apologies as well. Sign the guy. He deserves it. What a difference one year makes. Still plenty of ground to cover this season but beating down Buffalo and Fiami is impressive.

Or, in the world we live in today, a Rourke transfer portal trip. It's evident that there has been incredible development in player skills as well as play-calling. Now, the next big improvement needs to be in recruiting.

I have to say the corp we had in 2012, espically if you look at TE to throw to as well, was better. Maybe this team is on par with just WR. In 2012 it didn't stay healthy. But do we have 5 or 6 guys who are going to get NFL chances and 3 or 4 that make rosters on this team? I don't know. Maybe we do.

I was thinking more about this season than beyond. Kurtis got his bell rung at WMU and wasn't himself for the rest of that game and the next against NIU. The team won, but the opponents had their own QB issues. He came up limping a couple times last night but shook it off. Still, the concern is there because the backups have little experience. As for the portal, Kurtis seems to be extremely loyal to Albin and seems to like being at Ohio. If Albin stays, I'm not sure Kurtis would enter the portal unless there was an extremely good chance he would land in a top-10 program. Maybe not even then. No insider info, just a gut feeling. You're right about recruiting. Solich always seemed to have two serviceable QBs, but we really only have one now.

I wonder if chasing his brother's passing records could be motivation to stay as well? Maybe, maybe not.

Even though Rourke is a RS Junior, he has two years eligibility left after this season correct?

Oh, I see, so NOW we're going to start one of these threads, huh? What took it so long???? It's been downright embarrassing how many people have been trashing Albin last year and even THIS season up until a few weeks ago. But wow, what do you know, now there's a change of heart. Imagine that... Imagine being thrust into the situation he was last year and needing some time to adjust, and not being given it by many. Imagine starting another season with the conversations surrounding you involving who was going to replace you in the start of just your second season. Imagine just weeks ago people were still calling for your job, and now those same people are patting you on the back. This man is going to deliver Ohio something it hasn't won in over 50 years, something even Frank Solich couldn't do, and wow, amazingly, those same people are now ready to acknowledge how good you are and what a good job you're doing. Embarrassing...

From my understanding he does have two years left. Arkley tweeted last night that Sammy Wigz has another year left as well.
