Which means Derrius Vick, a freshman from Lincoln Southeast, moves up to No. 2 entering spring drills, Solich said.
"We're going to have to bring him along quickly," the coach said. "He's just going to have to throw the ball year-round now and develop that part of his game. I think he'll develop into what we want."
From Bobcatblitz 11/27 – “The scoop is several Ohio Bobcats did NOT RETURN to the team after the break..word is that they ALL ARE THE ENTIRE ROSTER OF BACK UP QUARTERBACKS NOT NAMED PHIL BATES....SYNDER,VICK,BELL....GONE DUE TO NO PROSPECTS EVER EVER SEEING THE FIELD...TERRIBLE CALL BY SYNDER IMO...THE OTHERS MAYBE BUT SERIOUSLY THIS IS A HUGE BLOW TO OHIO NOW AND IN THE FUTURE...TYLER WILL OBVIOULY NEED A BACKUP.
Tyler is the only QB on the roster now..Bates ..well I wouldn't count him we may as well put Dunlop or THompson behind center either way the game would be lost if Tyler goes down.
Yeah I totally agree with you that they have a terrible attitude ..why leave before the BIGGEST 2 games of the season..maybe EVER. The freshman Vick and Bell ok they would never see any real time but Snyder can start for most teams and has a much better arm than Tyler." Then commence back-tracking
