I’m sure we will get enough bad press about this class, but how about a few strengths. Recruiting agencies never give a high rating to small classes so we will be in the bottom half.

(1) People would call me crazy if I called him MAC ready...but I’ve seen a few MAC freshmen QBs who were successful. Currently I’d put CJ Harris as OUr 2nd string QB next year. Look for a JUCO or grad transfer however to enter the picture.

(2) Versatile performers like Kitrell and the kid from Nelsonville who can be a RB or WR. Kitrell looks like a RB but is listed as a LB.

(3) Offensive line is huge and versatile. I just watched an interview with OUr OL coach and came out impressed. I’m sure he was a main reason for 4 linemen at the 3 star level.

(4) Middlebrook as a DT holds an offer from OSU....and we don’t get many of those guys. He’s big and quick and wants to be an engineer.

(5) Big DBs who are about 6’1” and can play CB or S.

Middlebrook looks like he can clog the run game in the middle.

OL guys look solid.

The corner we got seems versatile and has good hands. Good size too.

The kid from Nelsonville seems like solid depth and a good special teams guy.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

This is a very good class and there will be more added to it during the traditional late signing period. Ohio is in the envious position of being able to select positional needs as opposed to other teams that needed to sign the allotted number of guys simply to try and get to the allowed 85 scholarship players within a few years because their programs and rosters are a downright mess. Many of the recruiting rankings are based on quantity over quality from those sites. But if you were to stack this class up against the same number of signees from other MAC teams it would be right up towards the top. Ohio’s class is quality over quantity.

Agree.

I think once we add a few more plus a JUCO and/or grad transfer that this class will take on a different look.

In the trenches its quality but not signing the DE target Mency hurt. Ending up at MT possibly because he didn't qualify and they may be one of those schools like Toledo or BG that will sign a non-qualifier as a freshman and allow them to work on grades. This is just a theory because why else would he flip to there?
