12.8 yards per carry, 28 yards per reception, 4.47 speed, sounds good to me

Scout.com says he already has an offer from Ohio, plus one from  Georgia State. He's another little one, 5'9", 180, about the same size as Robbie Walker.

Let's send some letters to his offensive line because he benefited from some awesome blocking.

The following taken from "The Oklahoman." Link below.

Recruiting started slow for White, but recently has picked up with Southern Mississippi and Western Kentucky making offers. Tulsa has also shown heavy interest.

And the school with the best journalism program may actually win the services of White, who also said he is being recruited some as a slot receiver.

He does look good, but his is the kind of tape that for me is impossible to evaluate. He takes the handoff, and runs, and goes for a TD with no contact. OK, he's fast, but how many yards will he get after contact? College is going to be very different than what you see on that tape, and I don't know how to guess how his skills will transfer. The films of Maleek Irons and Robbie Walker both show much more contact, so it gives me a better idea of how they will do.

RB, Slot, CB, Kick/punt returns, 4.47= athlete!  Add TOUGH and he'll find a place on the field in Athens.

The pessimist in me hopes this doesn't mean Robbie Walker is de-committing.

The optimist in me looks forward to playing this after every Papi White touchdown.

If he has real speed, the kind you can't coach, I hope he goes Ohio. I remember some coaches who passed on a smallish RB, Danny Woodhead, who only averaged 190 yds per game over four years. Granted Danny is one tough RB, not just a speed guy.

I read the tea leaves differently. If Papi's goal is to get into the best possible school of journalism, obviously Ohio has to be his first choice, so it seems to me to be a given that he'd accept on the spot if there is an open offer. The fact that he hasn't, yet, but is visiting, tells me that the class is full, and there aren't currently any spaces left for him to accept, and that they are probably trying to work out a deal where he gets the first available scholarship if someone fails to qualify or leaves the program.

Ted's list shows 19 Seniors and 82 total scholarships, which would, in theory leave room for 22 scholarships. Add in Tanner, who it was rumored might be leaving due to repeated injuries, and you start with 23. From that subtract Windham, who seems to be back, and Chapman and Everhart, who I believe got scholarships, and you are down to 20.  The current number of known verbals includes 17 Freshmen, plus Bonnstetter and Boland that are enrolled, and you are at 19. Add in Clark this fall and you hit 20. Now, most years some unexpected things happen, and there are 1-2 more scholarships than I expect, so we may see room for Papi yet, but we are certainly close to the limit.

I loved that Danny Thomas show...what was it called? Make Room For Papi??

But seriously, MAKE ROOM FOR PAPI.

Budding journos with 4.4 speed don't come along every year.

Per the link above he is visiting So. Miss today with an offer on the table. I think I remember someone discussing So Miss being in drastic need of RBs. What will he see at So. Miss facility wise vs Ohio?

Is it possible for the J-School to provide a scholarship...do they do that...how would that compare to a sports scholarship?

So, he'll be reporting on his own feats on the field?

I started to take a little bit of an interest in Southern Miss after Ohio played them in the GMAC Bowl several years ago.  I know they've made significant upgrades to their stadium, such as a new end zone seating area, a new scoreboard, etc.  Their stadium seats 36,000.  They have a newer workout facility for their football players but I don't know if they have an indoor practice facilty.

Would they need an indoor to go there when it's too hot outside?

Do teams in Texas, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana use funds for indoor facilities?
