Not sure if we are recruiting him as a WR.  I might be wrong, but he switched to Safety this season.  I'm sure he will be listed an ATH coming in.  Looks like he had some big offers that he passed up to be a Bobcat.  Can't wait to see him in green and white!   http://youtu.be/sRmdGqLd1m0

I'll tell ya where we'll go. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talkin' bout a little place called... ATHENS.

Offers from Cincinnati and Troy with interest from Boise, Duke, FSU, GA, Ga Tech, Mich State, Minn, Miss St, Mizzou, Penn St, South Ala, UCF, UVA, and Western KY.

I'd say that he is a pretty big get!

3 Stars according to ESPN.  Also says that he plays DB, but they project him as a WR.  According to the report, his 2 good traits are good hands and route running.  I think we can work with that!

Very nice. He' s rated 3 stars/76 by ESPN, the highest from them of any recruit so far, and 77 by 247Sports.

Seems like a great get by Solich. A bit undersized (getting conflicting heights and weights, anyone have an official number?)  for my taste but scouts rave about his ability and considering some of the schools that were interested in him I'd say this is an excellent grab for 'Cats football!

Just talked to James Walsh about Justin Wyatt's commit. "He's a big target and is physical. (He) Looks like someone who get himself in the end zone. And he had an offer from Cinci (Cincinnati) so he turned down a BCS offer to be a Bobcat which is huge for the 2013 class!" He's really excited about these WR's and I have to say this class is really starting to look like something special. Wyatt is so versatile, and Walsh is a good spread QB these two have the potential to develop into something super special.

Looks solid and his HS program is a top dog in GA right now. Cant go wrong with this Southern pipeline looks like he is friends with Jordan Reid 2012 Ohio recruit. I think the best Ohio football years are still ahead. Too many injuries this year but  not counting the guys out yet as I think we will win 10 games and be in the hunt for at least another bowl win.

Ohio lands three-star  WR Justin Wyatt

The Ohio Bobcats are off to an outstanding start to the 2012 season at 6-0, with two straight wins against MAC opponents. Frank Solich got some more good news when a prospect out of the Peach State decided to make the call.

Wide receiver Justin Wyatt (Suwanee, Ga./Collins Hill) was originally waiting to see if UCF and Minnesota would extend an offer, but over the weekend he felt he needed to go ahead and pull the trigger.

"I committed to Ohio on Sunday," Wyatt said.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver has 20 catches for 268 yards and two touchdowns in five games this year. He chose Ohio over offers from Cincinnati, Buffalo and Troy. He iscommitment No. 11 for Ohio, and the second out of Georgia, with defensive lineman Tony Porter (Suwanee, Ga./Peachtree Ridge) being the other.

I like this kid and Ohio's young WR core..I think the future will have 3-4 all MAC and NFL caliber Wideouts once coach Dixon has a few seasons with them.

Cool, with Justin, Sebastian and perhaps some of the Jucos, the WR corp is looking up.

The coach that recruited Justin was talking at the reception about him being selected to the Under Armour All American team. The level of football he was playing in High School is considered among the very highest in the country.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

I saw this on the video as well. I have been unable to find anything about this on any google search. Anyone else know what the coach may have been referring to?

I do not subscribe to Rivals so I cannot see all of of the info, but if you search his name and UA, the google search shows a mention of a Rivals camp sponsored by Under Armour.....not sure if this is what was meant

I ran into this old thread, and thought I'd see what happened.

He did get interest from Alabama, but ended up with offers from Colorado and Troy:
https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Justin-Wyatt-81576/Recr... /

He went to Troy, and in 2016 had 4 receptions for 25 yards. He apparently did not play in 2017.

I'm sure there will be some players who decide to leave and who go on and do well for another team. Ohio has been the recipient of some good players who left other schools, so the reverse will also be true. The curious thing about bobcatblitz's post is that it is from Summer of 2017, by which time Wyatt had already been at Troy for a year.

I looked some non-qualifiers up, too, that didn't find their way back to Ohio, to see how they have done. Firse, Clayton Glasco, after failing to qualify, ended up with the Monroe Mustangs, and went from there to Indiana State.
https://stats.digitalscout.com/player/8509482/football

Najee Stevens-McKenzie, another non-qualifier, went to ASA College in New York, and is now at Kansas as a 3-star recruit:
https://247sports.com/player/najee-stevens-mckenzie-75226

Tate Leavitt ended up at Hutchinson, and had an offers from Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia and many, many more, but chose Kentucky. He never played for Kentucky, however, and ended up with Indiana State:

https://www.sycamorepride.com/showthread.php?39105-18-OH-... )
On the positive side, he turned things around academically, and went from being a non-qualifier out of high school to graduating.

So LC has documented 4 cases of guys on various threads who left Ohio and have basically done very little elsewhere. Looks like the coaches did the right thing in not letting them play much here. Maybe not so good recruiting them, but cut their losses anyway.
