Does anyone know how many we're planning on taking in this year's class? Not sure if I've read that somewhere and maybe it's a question for Ted Thompson when he gets a chance? Always been intrigued by this, especially with the 48 hour scramble at the end to fill slots or not to overfill.

The scholarship grid is on our recruiting page: http://www.bobcatattack.com/football/recruiting.asp

If you assume that Belack and Noel are no longer on scholarship (they aren't on the roster at OhioBobcats.com) you have:

Juniors this year: 18
Sophomores: 14
RS Freshman: 11
True Freshman: 20
Total: 63

So that would say Ohio has in the neigborhood of 22 scholarships to fill. There could be further attrition and walk-ons put on scholarship that would impact that number. They have 17 commits right now. So I would expect a class in the 22-24 range.

It sure would be nice to get to that 17-17-17-17-17 breakdown. Any class with only 11-14 seniors in it just isn't enough "mature" depth to win at the D1 level. This seems to be a big issue with this staff. When two or three positions are stacked we seem to have 2-3 weak ones. We go out and shore those weak ones up and two years later the previously strong positions are weak. Gets to my mantra about getting enough good players in ALL positions filled at one time to make a MACC run.
