About 6’5”-240.

Naysayers beware.

Building back the team looks like a slow trickle. With transfers like this from a Power 5 school and JUCOS and HS grads it actually looks somewhat doable.

Ranked #631 nationally out of HS. Appears to be highly motivated after not getting much PT at Purdue. Excited to see what he can do.

Welcome!

Something makes me think it's going to take a bit more than this transfer from the Big 10 to gets things turned around in Athens. But I also think it can be done with Northern Illinois' 2021 season being the blueprint.

Some look at this as a total team collapse.

I look at it more as a cleansing.

Kinda like after a hangover when you feel better after you throw up.

That's the second Big Ten transfer to Ohio on the D-line alone. Mayfield from Michigan State transferred in last year. Don't be surprised to see another D-line or two leave with these guys coming in. They aren't coming to Ohio to sit on the bench. They'll be playing in front of some guys who are already here next year.

He was out this year with an Achilles injury.

https://purdue.rivals.com/news/purdue-de-dontay-hunter-ha...

Purdue redshirt sophomore defensive end Dontay Hunter has entered the transfer portal.

Hunter missed all of the 2021 season recovering from an Achilles injury. The 6-4, 270-pound Westerville, Ohio, native never played a down for the Boilermakers.

Lack of a pass rush has been OUr Achilles Heel (pun intended).

The Big Ten transfers and the JUCO DE plus a new DC should help. If we get the Fiami D-Line coach he is noted for his pass rush.

Whatcha doin?

Watching Dontay Hunter videos.

Who’s Dontay Hunter?

A game changer….reminds me of Chandler Jones of the Arizona Cardinals.

Hopefully the change in defensive coordinators and philosophy as well as some talent influx allows for a better pass rush. The defense has really struggled generating pressure without blitzing.

A lot of people, myself included, forgot about Dontay joining the defense.

Really excited to see what he can do with Kai Ceaser on the side and Denzel Daxon taking a big step foward, Dugan having a 5th year.
