Softball Bobcats off to a great start, 4-0 with wins against Uconn, Elon, UNC Greensboro & NC Central. They scored 52 runs in the 4 games. Ace Skipp Miller struggled, hopefully that was just an aberration.

Ohio is the preseason favorite to win the MAC.

After going 1-4 against some pretty good competition two weekends ago, the Bobcats won all four games this past weekend. Three of them were shutouts. The last was a 15-2 blowout. There area few good teams but no really challenging opponents on the rest of the nonleague schedule. Hopefully they'll keep it rolling.

Ohio Softball had a very successful weekend, winning all 4 games at GMU!

Ohio 9, GMU 0
Ohio 3, Longwood 1
Ohio 1, Longwood 0
Ohio 2, GMU 1

Ohio is now 16-6 on the season!

With Saturday's double header canceled because of expected bad weather, Ohio is 17-7 with just a midweek game against Marshall ahead of MAC play. Pretty good. A 4-3 loss in the second game Thursday ended an 8-game winning streak.

As it stands from nonconference play, Ohio is among the top teams in the MAC offensively behind Miami (which has displayed the most power by far) and Ball State. Ohio is second in ERA, just behind Ball State. Those two teams are well ahead of the rest of the league.

Ball State is the only other team in the MAC above .500 at 14-6. The Cardinals were projected fourth in the preseason poll and seems to have benefitted from a less than difficult schedule so far. RPI right now has Ohio at 93, Miami at 132, Akron at 133, Kent State at 147 and then Ball State at 148. Ohio will open next weekend with a pretty bad Buffalo team (3-16, RPI 225).
