Cedarville, OH - CEDARVILLE, OH- The Ohio University Men's and Women's Cross Country teams both took third place Friday at the 2010 All-Ohio Championships in Cedarville, OH.
The women finished with a total of 103 points behind Dayton's 92 and rival Miami's 43. Leading the pack were seniors Annie Beecham (17:21.5) and Kari Summers (17:29.9) who finished third and fourth respectively. Freshmen Melissa Thompson (18:20.9) and Allison Stillwell (18:21.5) contributed strong performances, finishing 28th and 29th respectively, while Abigail Swift (39th, 18:33.3), Emily Pifer (69th, 19:00.5), and Lauren Fett (71st, 19:00.8) rounded out the seven for the Bobcats.
The men tallied a total of 123 points, falling short behind Xavier's 119 and rival Miami's 82. Seniors Ridge Robinson (24:26.2) and Scott Meyers (24:47.5) placed in the top ten, finishing third and ninth respectively. Sophomore Noah Hawkins (25:30.4) and senior Chris Davis (25:31.1) added to the solid effort, finishing 34th and 35th respectively, while Tyler Ames (42nd, 25:38.4), Joey Cherico (47th, 25:44.1), and Tyler Cantley (61, 26.00.0) finished the day for Ohio.
In the women's group, Mid-American Conference foe Toledo took fourth while Cincinnati finished fifth. In the men's group, Dayton earned the fourth spot while the Bearcats took fifth once again.
Both teams will head to Terre Haute, Indiana in two weeks for Pre-Nationals.
