I agree on the non-student friendly comment. They tried in the past but tough to compete with fest season and the athletic dept pretty much gave up is how I see it.

I still don't understand why the locals don't support though. Still think the cold/rainy conditions caps the potential.

Well we had a good effort yesterday at V Tech, tied in the 6th as Blake Gaskey (who has had 5 straight solid starts) held his own on the mound. They poured it on us from there but we did not get run ruled, unlike the other 2 games in the series...

Bobcats take 2 of 3 in Oxford. That has to feel mighty good. The divide between the top 6 and the bottom 5 is pretty large, so Miami will unfortunately still make the tourney.

Looked like just an awesome series, would have loved to have been there. Miami walks it off 4-3 on Friday. Bobcats go up 8-0 quickly Saturday and win easy 14-5. Then the Sunday rubber match the Bobcats come back from down 10-3 (including a huge go ahead 2 out bases clearing 3 run double in the 8th) to win 12-11 with the tying run stranded on 3rd.

Sweep bottom dweller Akron and finish 14-16 in the MAC should be the goal. Dropping 2 of 3 to both NIU and CMU in Athens early in the year was the backbreaker. Just flipping those to winning 2 of 3 would have us fighting got the 6 seed still.

Sounds like it was a very competitive weekend, you love to see it especially with the way things shaped up this year.

Maybe if the MAC held an 8 team tournament the end results could have been different.

Bobcats finish with a walk off win taking 2 of 3 from Akron. Finish 13-17 in the MAC.
