From the limited "film" that I've seen on him, he has much better hands, and moves than Wiz. I predict significant minutes for him.

Agreed, his game looks cleaner than Wiz’s. The latter isn’t making that type of pass 41 seconds in. Here’s another short clip.

Have we ever had a player 7’1” or taller? Closest I can think of in recent memory are Wiz and Ndour.

I am excited that we have a 7'1" commit, however I read somewhere that he has a heart issue? Is this true?

I thought I read that he had had heart surgey last year. Hopefully, that was curative.

quote what sounds like a legit source:

Rhode Island Rams center Moek Icke was evaluated for Marfan syndrome after serious heart issues caused him to leave the team early in the 2024-25 season. Fortunately, it was determined that he does not have Marfan syndrome, though he did undergo extensive heart surgery and rehabilitation.

Thanks for queuing me up for this: Some scholars think that Abraham Lincoln had Marfan Syndrome, though many disagree.

As did "the next Kevin Durant" and the "could end up Dennis Rodman" but I won't expound anymore on those foot-in-mouth moments.

Slight difference between someone saying a player should watch Dennis Rodman's tape to learn rebounding skills, because he has no offensive ability and "could end up Dennis Rodman". A quote you made up, and put in quotes.

Kind of like me saying a nonsensical rambler who is easily confused could be President, doesn't mean you're getting the nomination.

That already happened and the results don't look too good at this point.

You do realize the Marin Bota reference is a slight at TOS for having the audacity to say that with a straight face in the off season after we signed him from Auburn and not because anybody on this site ever actually thought or believed that right? Right? RIGHT?

Ah who am I kidding, of course you don't...

With the epic levels of overestimating the talent over the years of our guys, somebody probably did think Bota was going to dominate the NBA someday. As if the moment he walks into the Convo, he would grow a cape, fly around, leap tall buildings in a single bound... in that very moment he would go from regular Bota to SUPER-BOTA just by putting on a Bobcats uniform. Like magic.

Apparently neither you or your alternate personality were around here at that time. This was widely viewed as a ridiculous joke the moment TOS uttered the statement. Even clueless, lower BBIQ guys like your humble correspondent picked up on the lack of credibility of the utterance and understood the sarcasm right away.

If you do a site search of BA basically every single reference to Kevin Durant is greencat/fishbates making this exact same point. This is easily the 20th time. Exact same deal with the Dennis Rodman stuff.

What doesn't come up in a search is any reference to whatever it is Greencat's talking about. It's been five years of ranting about a thing he imagined.

What's our moral obligation here? Do we need to try and get in touch with a family member or something to tell them he's not okay?

To be fair if you needed a guy to sub in with 1 second left and guard the inbounder, Bota was ELITE.
