Oh man there's gonna be lots of beef in DeKalb this year. They just lost another player, Darweshi Hunter, to a fellow MAC schoool - Miami. Kaleb Thornton is already signed with Akron.

Saw that. Beefs Frosh Jaden Slaughter also in portal now - will be very interesting when NIU takes on Akron / Fiami this year.

Two bigs we were interested in committed today. Essam Mustafa to TCU and Ziggy Reid to Youngstown State.
Thought maybe Reid would be our last in the door. Undersized, but stocky. Can run. Can shoot it. I hope the (non movement) means something is in the works.

Yea, I wanted Reid too and thought we could realistically land him. Tough to see him go to another mid-major, in our state; that’s on our schedule next season. Speaking of Youngstown, also landed EJ Farmer from Toledo today.

Hoping the silence means announcements are coming soon as well. Especially with YSU completing its offseason shopping list and we had a similar head start on the portal.

Just as a point of reference we signed Wiz last year April 15, Hunter April 25 and Baker May 19 so we hadn't signed anyone by this point last year either. But we're definitely in the window for getting someone and hearing it #soon.

Twitter seems to be better resource of that this year. For not only Boals, but the rest of the staff. The only news I’ve seen on offers actually extended are to Myles Che, Shereef Mitchell, and Keyshawn Hall (according to his dad). Haven’t seen anything on visits.

I know these are different circumstances, but I hope this is not the ghost of Jason Grunkemeyer part 2. Don’t blame Wight for wanting to try and exude future pain on Boals and the Bobcats. I’m sure has a big chip on his shoulder.

The first thing I thought of is in The Lion King when Scar sarcastically acknowledges Simba's statement that he would be future king of Pride Rock.

For sure! That Toledo game next year will be spicy. His parents are Bobcats making this story even more personal. Still support coach Boals but never liked what he did with Wight when he came in, especially now that it has become clear it was a bad call not only ethically but competitively.

I just hope we’re able to counter with a solid big or two add of our own. Not being able to do that would only make this that much worse.

Agree. Hopefully some movement soon in the portal with a Bobcat addition or two.

I forgot all about that kid.

Would've been a nice 'redemption' story, but you can't fault Boals for going with Ogbonda from Georgia Tech, a young BVP, and a duo of 6'10" freshman... or the other freshman... Miles and Michael Brown, Roderick, McDay.

+ JP in there... Boals had a TON of young guys on that roster. Is what it is.

And the waiting game continues.......hope Boals has something up his sleeve. Kent State just got better today with Bass.

Wow, seems like a wasted portal trip by Reggie Bass. Now he's used up his free move and it was used laterally. Wonder if it would have been better to stay put, post great numbers and try again next year.

I wouldn't call a CMU to Ohio a lateral move ... only lateral being in conference.

Is a Nebraska to Ohio State a lateral move ... Is Call to UCLA a lateral move..

Just sayin ...

I really like your style . . .

Now, if you’d only re-introduce the “Rip ‘em up, Tear ‘em up, Give ‘em Hell, OHIO” chant!
