Between that an “Ohio U” and “Ohio University” on every reference, I was pretty done with this crew.

Is Steve Wolf one of the worst college basketball color analysts of all time or is he the worst college basketball color analyst of all time?

An awesome individual, with basketball smarts, who assists Ohio in winning games. By the way, I loved tonight’s game!

I'm starting to love this team. Hunter and DW3 are playing at an all-MAC level right now. Miles Brown was awesome. Gabe had some valuable minutes! The rotation seemed to tighten up tonight.

Akron had big nights from Freeman and Castaneda but not many others. We were 87% from the free throw line, 20-23.
What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Well, we're not Ohio State, not Ohio Wesleyan, not Ohio Northern, not Ohio Dominican, not Ohio Christian.

So, should we "drop" "University" so we can be called Ohio?

Great win.

And yet here we are complaining about OU vs Ohio U vs Ohio University vs 0hio.

Literally nobody cares.

They can call us "Ohio U" or "Ohio University," when they start referring to that school in Columbus as "Ohio State U" or "Ohio State University" on every reference. Tonight, to be fair, one announcer constantly called us OHIO but the other guy just couldn't bring himself to do it. Probably because he has a love affair with THE Ohio State University.

We got solid minutes from both Brod and Wiz tonight. Not sure if the data proves this out, but we certainly look like a better team when Brod is on the floor. Just a smart player and his 2-3 from 3 was huge for us. Wiz played really well for "DJ" Wilson after he had to hit the bench with his 2nd foul. Nice defensive presence and didn't cost us on the offensive end, even though that moving screen foul he picked up was marginal at best. When these two guys are playing well, I like our chances.

I sat behind the 2nd half Akron basket and Brod’s defense was mostly fantastic snd I believe he keyed the rally out to 18 points.

wiznitzer was playing a VERY good game when he was in there running the court and his hustle stick back on a break in the first half was D1 quality. He worked over Freeman as much as he could and stepped out to help the guards without Freeman burning him. He helped Groce and Ford lose their monds when playing tough D on the flopping Freeman who took one in the eye when his head was traveling to the hardwood.

My first time to see the Hardwood House—nice use of that area!

Nice to see the Bobcats open an 18 point lead on a team that is predicted by the experts to make a lot of noise this year at the Dance. Bull, Holy Toledo, Kent let that happen OHIO..

Only 5K in the Convo per ESPN and that looked about right to me maybe a tad high - but that 5K was Engaged!

Maybe best "team" effort this season....

you all have good points here and there. It's nice to see positive chatter. I sat in the student section for this one, a different perspective. +'s there were students actually standing, they gave away some t's and plenty of free chicken from some company testing the waters or something. + 3 in a row!..I saw enthusiasm with the players. It got my blood bleeding Green momentarily. I will get a bit more excited with a dub in the Convo next week over Buffalo. Maybe we can solidify a decent seed going into MAC Tourny with some momentum. Fantastic win. oh, -minuses.. "it just ain't what it used to be" I want 7,000 for a game like tonight

Agreed. We all know what BRod’s challenges through the years but you have to respect how hard he works, especially on defense. He has become a really smart and driven player, and the 2-3 from deep was a big bonus. This message board has treated Wiz like a piñata this year, which is understandable because he’s been brutal most nights… but he also has never stopped working and had what was by far his best game as a Bobcat. Redemption felt pretty good. Elmore James is shaping up to be a force. Hunter leading five guys in double-figures… there was a lot to love about the whole game tonight. Winning the rebounding battle, hitting 87% from the line and going 10-16 from deep - that’s going to win a lot of games.

Clean up the turnovers and play smarter with that big lead and it would have been a perfect night, but almost perfect was enough to run Zippy out of the gym. Let’s hope it is a harbinger of some momentum and a climb up the seeding standings heading in to Cleveland.

100% agree with you. Gabe was the best matchup on Freeman. He did a lot of things that don’t show up in the stat book.

to think Rhegi used to hold that award in this group. Always looking for a new low. He is pretty bad though. Wonder if he has a Twitter handle for comments.

I've always been a fan of Reghi. He's a long-time, knowledgeable ambassador for the MAC.

Reghi is fine, preferable in a lot of cases. But when I turned on the game yesterday and saw Wolf doing the pre-game my eyes started to bleed. Then he began talking and my ears started to bleed.
