Friend I am going with has a freshman. Students are buzzing about it and planning to go in big numbers, and many have concerns some will be turned away. His daughter and friend are just joining us with regular paid tickets out of fear of the student ticket process.

I predict 1/3rd WVU fans, primarily the SE corner of the stadium and the north ends.
From what I've heard the last few weeks, there will be plenty of students turned away. Good move on getting guaranteed entry.
Can't they just load up the hillside with students and that way they will be conveniently located to tear down the goalposts after final horn?

East stands have to go. Bad concrete, seat size, restrooms etc. Add a deck with restrooms and concessions to be above flood plain. However, need to create demand with wins and home games with big crowds. W.V. may be the only team who can do this for us.

I sold 2 tickets on there for about $165 per ticket to the buyer. Wanted to price them at a substantial discount below $200. There are still tickets listing up there above $400 with one person listing at $769. I know its Ohio Football but that is a pretty steep premium unless it includes premium parking and catering with a tax deductible portion.

Why not increase the seat size from 14" to 18" for the side grandstands then make up that lost capacity with a deck? A 3,000 seat deck would largely make up for moving from 14" to 18". Go to a 5,000 seat deck if you want a little more than what we have at present.

Bad concrete? Really? I can tell you for a fact that those stands are not being torn down. Renovated, yes.

IF we ever expand, it will be fixed seating where Victory Hill is.

WVU is a +40 point favorite over Bob Morris in 2 minutes. Will be tuning in to see what they’re up to with the half dozen QB’s on the roster, including former Charlotte starter Max Browne. Rich Rod said they might all see time… good luck with that. They have 79 new players. Whole bunch of high major transfers.
They are struggling, almost halftime and only up 10-3.
Four fumbles hurt. I thought they were intentionally running a vanilla playbook in the 1st quarter to keep Robert Morris in the game. Feels like a glorified practice for WVU I don't know how many conclusions to draw. I wish they were playing a tougher opening opponent than RMC.

I'm mot watching it but with so many new players they might be running basic playbook to get them used to the system and not give us anything fancy to practice against this week.
From what I remember in the old WVU RichRod days, his offense really isn't all that complex and he only runs a handful of plays. Now, the motions/formations could absolutely be different to throw off a defense's matchups, but for the most part his playcalling his simple: spread option that is focused more on running first than throwing. Not sure if he's changed that.

We played them in the bowl game last year. It’s changed a lot lol.

It’s sure going to be way different with thousands of opponent fans instead of a few hundreds at best that we’re more used to. And they’re bringing their band!

A good question is where will the OU band sit when the student section has been reduced down so much.

Thought it interesting how RichRod said at least twice, in a polite way, that our visiting locker room sucked. I guess we have quite the reputation for crappy football facilities.

The visiting locker room is objectively awful but that should not be a major priority for upgrades. Let them be cramped and uncomfortable.

It’s definitely not cramped. The one side has a low ceiling, but has a 36” locker for every player, 12 coaches lockers (that was the limit when it was refurbished. Shit carpet, two common spaces for offense and defense. Definitely worse spaces in the MAC and even the BIG10. Some places have nails on 2x4’s

Not sure how WVU will survive that "long" 3-hour bus ride. OU probably should find a charter flight or something.

There’s some historically fun references to shuttle buses on another thread and I was tempted to ask this question there but thought someone might find the answer more useful here.

Since it was reported that there will be parking at the fairgrounds, will there be shuttle service provided to and from the stadium? Serious question. (Note to the “shuttle bus characters”: Please feel free to carry on here too. ;)

According to Parking Services website there is a “free shuttle” with your $20 game day parking pass from 11am to 1 hour post event. $15 if pre-booked.

I'm an Ohio University grad who lives in Morgantown, home of the Mountaineers, where my children graduated. I've dreaded this game because I want both teams to win. :)

WVU has a lot of new players, a few who were signed just 3 weeks ago. The coach has a reputation for having a good offense so expect that. Even so, they are predicted to finish near the bottom of the B12.

I expect a good showing of WVU fans, but I won't be able to attend due to prior commitments. I'll be there for the homecoming game though. Wishing both teams a good, injury-free game.
