I am proud of our lines on both sides of the ball. They did really well all things considered. We didn't get the run game going but we had decent protection. On defense, they got to Sayin several times and stuffed a lot of runs.
The total mismatch was WR/DB. OSU could have completely lit us up if they just bombed the ball all day. We did well in the red zone but in an open field, we had no answer. Similar story in reverse on offense...our receivers barely ever got an inch, we had to keep the offense to short/quick passes. The TD to Hendricks was a risky throw that could have been picked off. Chase could not get open all night.
All in all, the on field performance was OK. We were lucky OSU did not score more points. They never punted all game. Just happy to not see a horrific and embarrassing score stain our season results. The TD was a great moment I will cherish as we Bobcats were loud and proud. We will always have these moments:
2025 - Trailed 13-9 in the 3rd.
2010 - No great moment but final 43-7 not horrific.
2008 - Led 14-12 entering the 4th quarter.
1999 - Tied 10-10 at the half.
Prior to 1999 - They feared us for 96 years.
I did not have any problems with OSU folks and saw lots of friends. I did make sure to point out they were repeatedly chanting the name of their opponent, which they had no answer for. I would guess at least 10,000 Bobcats in attendance and several with split allegiance.
