I'll go ahead and say this, and it's just my personal opinion.
But the way this is projecting to be, the Albin era will strongly sour my views on Frank's so called legacy and success.
Granted he took a terrible program and made it respectable, but he had it on a downward trajectory for several years going into his ultimate retirement. I really wish he would have hung it up after the Spud Bowl and it was obvious the program was stagnating. He never brought home a MAC championship.
I was even ready to roll the dice between Tettleton era and and N. Rourke as the program was still in a good enough spot to attract legit coaching prospects.
As it stands now, Ohio Football will have to endure what we have seen so far this season 45 more times. 45 more-barring an early termination.
And this is on Frank's hands because of his "loyalty."
Only at this hapless school would an unproven coach be blindly handed the keys to the truck for four years out of fear that it would burn a bridge from a coach who had way too much control over a future that he made messy if he wasn't given what he thought was "earned." Short of last year's Men's NCAA tourney run, this entire athletics operation from on field/court performance to game day experience has been down right abysmal lately.
My fear is that the players who may actually be a part of making this program relevant again are in elementary school right now.
