MICHAEL STEPHENS, the former Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations at Ohio, Michael accepted a new position as Vice President of Sponsorship and Ticket Sales for the Omaha franchise of the Pro Volleyball Federation. Michael’s last day with Ohio University was May 19th.

JACOB ROCKOFF, the former Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Sales at Ohio. Jacob will be joining Michael Stephens in Omaha with the Pro Volleyball Federation.

Jacob handled all marketing efforts for Ohio Bobcat Athletics and led the sales campaign for all ticketed Bobcat events. Part of his duties involved oversight of the Cheer Team, serving as support liaison at home football and basketball games and when we traveled.

Pro Volleyball Federation is REAL pro volleyball and the premier women’s professional volleyball league in North America. Pro Volleyball Federation will begin play in February 2024 with world class players and coaches, including some of America’s greatest volleyball players.

Pro Volleyball Federation boasts teams in Atlanta, GA, Grand Rapids, MI, Columbus, OH, and Omaha, NE, San Diego, CA and Orlando, FL and a few more to be named. Each team will have at least 12 months to build its team and brand within its market while growing a strong season ticket base and a meaningful roster of sponsor and local partners.

According to the new Pro Volleyball Federation, teams will play at least 16 matches and have up to 14 players per team with each first-year player earning similar to that of a first-year WNBA player.

I posted this in the volleyball forum but I really think this league will work. Women's volleyball is taking off. It is really entertaining (moreso than men's volleyball which is too powerful / not enough volleying) and I think they can build on player personalities with all the passion shown in the game. The suspense and intensity is palpable, pace of play is great. I think any investor or young employee like these guys choosing to get in on the ground floor here is making a smart move. Won't be at all surprised if this ends up the #1 women's pro sports league in the US.

The Burrow family is heavily involved with the Columbus team. Anyone who was around the Columbus Convention Center the first three weekends in May knows exactly what you meant by "volleyball is taking off."

Burrow is heavily involved in the entire league, not just a team.

But is it real? Or is it REAL?

Sounds like somebody from THE writes their marketing.

I'm glad someone picked up on the irony of the entire release and post!

If you're excluding international tours like the WTA and LPGA, there's really only WBNA that's established that I can think of. Lots of opportunity. I'm all for volleyball growing in popularity.
