In +3. No one take my seats!

Recommendations for pregame eat and drink in Oxford that's kid-friendly. Got a chicken tenders/mac and cheese/pizza type in my brood. Would like to go somewhere other than Bdubs and Steinkeller would not be a fit.

Ray, people will come Ray. They'll come to Oxford for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up in the parking lot not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at the door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, we'll say. It's only $10 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect evening. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their Bobcat heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come. The one constant through all the years has been the rivalry. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But this rivalry has marked the time. This game, Miami sucking: it's a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good and will be again. Oh... people will come. People will most definitely come. Because Miami indeed, and forever more, does suck.

Their game last night vs Toledo sounds a lot like our first meeting with the Rockets this season: Toledo scored the first 11 pts; hit 60% from the field and 52% from three; and won on the road by 32 pts. Look for MOFO to be out to prove that was a fluke, especially on Senior Night.

Still, MOFO can't help but suck.

So, is it true that win or lose on Friday, we will play Miami in the first round of the tournament? Don't like that at all. If that' true, I'd take a page out of the NFL playbook. Since we've secured our match up, just play scrubs on Friday. Rest the starters. Maybe Wiz can play 40 minutes and get some needed reps at catching the ball and dunking.

I’m not sure of all of the scenarios, but I don’t think that is accurate. Western Holds the tiebreaker with Miami, and so I think Miami could land anywhere from the 5 seed to the 7. Not sure, but it’s possible they could even be an 8 seed.

Eastern got slapped hard by Miami only scoring 37 points!!!!

Then turnaround and whip the leader.

Miami getting crushed by Toledo means nothing on Friday evening.

Go Bobcats; continue the surge.

If Ohio defeats Miami and Akron loses to Western Michigan, the tiebreaker for second place between Ohio and Akron in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) would be determined based on the conference rules. Let’s explore how this tiebreaker would be resolved:

Head-to-Head Record: The first criterion is the head-to-head record between the tied teams. If Ohio and Akron have played each other during the season, the team with the better head-to-head record would take precedence.
Divisional Record: If the head-to-head record is tied or if the teams haven’t played each other, the next step is to compare their divisional records. This means looking at their performance against other teams within their respective divisions. The team with the better divisional record would be ranked higher.
Common Opponents: If divisional records are also tied, the conference may consider common opponents. They would compare how Ohio and Akron performed against the same opponents throughout the season. The team with better results against common opponents would get the edge.
Strength of Schedule: Another factor could be the strength of schedule. The conference might assess the overall difficulty of each team’s opponents. If one team faced tougher opponents, that could work in their favor.Coin Toss or Random Draw: If all tiebreakers fail to determine a clear winner, a coin toss or random draw could be used as a last resort.
Remember that these tiebreaker rules can vary by conference, so it’s essential to check the specific guidelines set by the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for men’s basketball23. Good luck to both Ohio and Akron in their upcoming games!

Yep, and these are the new tiebreaker rules. We are locked into the 3 seed…

Tiebreaker Procedure
Ties in winning percentage, and thus for Tournament seeding positions shall be broken according to the following.

Between TWO teams:
A. Head-to-head competition
B. Winning percentage* vs. ranked conference teams (top to bottom vs. common opponents regardless of the number of times played)
C. Coin flip
* - Winning percentage is used instead of record because of situations where teams do not play each other the same number of times. Therefore, a team that is 1-0 (1.000) would win the tiebreaker over a team that is 1-1 (.500).

For MULTIPLE (3 or more) team ties
E. Total won-lost record of games played among the tied teams
F. Two (2)-team tie-breaker procedure goes into effect (refer to A).

NOTE: Once a three-team tie has been reduced to two teams, the two-team tiebreaker will go into effect.

* - Winning percentage is used instead of record because of situations where teams do not play each other the same number of times. Therefore, a team that is 1-0 (1.000) would win the tiebreaker over a team that is 1-1 (.500)

Yes we are b/c we lose tiebreakers with both Akron and Toledo but win the tie-breaker with CMU.

What isn't set is our opponent, and we can have a nice say in who it is.

The overwhelmingly likely scenario is still to get Fiami again in Cleveland.

OU 12-5. They’re #2 with a win, a Toledo win, and an Akron loss. They’re #3 otherwise

How?

Akron went 1-1 vs Toledo.
We went 0-2.

If we win we're 13-5. If Toledo wins they're 14-4. If Akron loses they're 13-5.

Toledo would be #1
We'd tie with Akron for 2nd, which would go to the first tie-breaker of head-to-head. We split.
Second tie-breaker is record against top team in the MAC and going descending from there - in this case that would be Toledo.

We're 0-2 against Toledo, Akron is 1-1. Akron would still win the tie-breaker and get #2.

We're locked into #3.

Maybe don't trust someone from Fiami with Mafs.

So many ways you can look at this game in terms of how Boals and the staff should approach it with us most likely playing Miami again in the quarterfinals. My take is we play this game like it’s a January game. We have an opportunity to win 20 games and who would’ve thought that back on January 10? Use this game as an opportunity for Hunter to get back on track offensively. If we are lucky enough to have a big lead with five minutes left, then you empty the bench.

Bottom line…it’s Miami. They embarrassed us on their home court last year and this team hasn’t forgotten that. Go out and win and play it like you normally would with starters minutes.

They should play every game like it's THE game.

That's what was missing in losses to Marshall (12-19) and other games that were entirely winnable. Davidson, APSU, etc.

I agree with this. It's March. Last thing you want to do is take the foot off the throttle.

It's officially survive and advance season. Take care of what you can control and let the chips fall where they may with respect to seedings and opponents.

Usually if you just win good things happen.

Leave all the chatter about who we want to or will play to the fans like us. Just win baby.

Agree to play from the outset like it's a game to absolutely win. Where it gets interesting is if Miami gets a healthy lead at the half or early second half. Does this change the approach? Do you rest the guys and not try and claw back in it with next week being the real goal? The big time starts a week from today.

There's six days after until the MAC Tournament. Guys have plenty of time to get rested and still be prepared. Obviously, you're not going to do anything that would risk injury, but I don't think fatigue will be much of a factor.

If Sy Chatman played 40 minutes the other night, our starters can play 32 to 35.

According to a few people here we already play scrubs.
