Charlie Creme at ESPN has Ohio as the beneficiary of TCU's early exit in the Big XII. Ohio is the last team in and a #11 seed against FSU.
http://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/bracketology

I don't know these guys credentials but I also found:

Real time RPI has Ohio as a #11 seed against Minnesota.
http://realtimerpi.com/bracketology/bracketology_Women.html

Fansided has Ohio as a #8 against DePaul and is 5 days old.
https://highposthoops.com/2019/03/05/womens-basketball-br... /

Collegesportsmadness has not updated for a week and does not include Ohio. OUr prospects are better with a win at Miami. We might be in now anyway.

The MAC has 6 teams ranked in the top 100 (RPI), based on the rankings, Buffalo, CMU and Ohio should be in.https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-women/d1/ncaa-wo...

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

Is anyone from the MAC on the committee in the room to make sure this happens... even after recusing themselves from actual selection?

As of this morning Espn Bracketology and Charlie Crème has 3 MAC schools in the Woman's NCAA, lets hope this holds true, fingers crossed !!!

Ohio 11 seed playing 6 seed South Dakota St.

CMU 8 seed playing 9 seed Michigan

Buffalo 10 seed playing 7 seed Depaul

This would be great for the conference to get 3 teams in plus all 3 MAC schools have a legit shot to pull an upset. even tho Michigan is a 9 be nice to knock of a Big 10 school.

IF we get in and get South Dakota State, the Lady Jackrabbits like to chuck it from 3 point land and if they get hot or find the range, it could be difficult. The Summit League is projected to have 2 teams in the Big Dance, SDSU and its sister school, the University of South Dakota. From there the Summit should have 2 other teams in post-season, Oral Robert University and Denver going to either the WNIT or WBI. Either way, playing SDSU would be an interesting matchup. SDSU won the Summit Tourney, beating out downstate rival USD.

Hope we can get three teams in. At some point the women's tourney is going to haul in serious revenues and would like our league to benefit from it. Can tell you from a resale end the women's final four is pretty pricey if in the right locales.

Obviously the money would be different, but, does the women’s tournament have a similar payout structure to the men’s tournament?

The only thing that can bring down MAC women's basketball in the near future is coaches leaving with poor replacements. It has been the best mid-major league for a while and in some cases in the last couple of years computer systems have had it better than the American where UConn pulls the average way up. The Men's MAC has always been pretty good at pushing a decent team like Ohio into 10th or 11th. What it rarely does it produce a ranked team like Buffalo. Well the Bulls are going to suffer badly from senior attrition. The majority of women's MAC teams are at least NIT worthy. Look around. How many of these teams are loaded with seniors? Ohio is going to be stacked next year but the road to a MAC title is going to be difficult.

While UB loses a lot and won't be able to match it's 30-3 record, they will not suffer badly. Oats has a few good players coming back, some quality players sitting out, and will most likely bring in a player or two most MAC schools only dream of recruiting.

In news much more solemn than a former team captain coming home to coach his alma-mater, Drake is about to go down to Missouri St. It is very possible that Missouri St. just took OUr NCAA spot.

That does hurt. ESPN's Bracketology had Ohio as the last team in before that, but of course, that's one person's guess. Ohio was listed as the second-to-last team in before losing to Buffalo, but Tennessee passed Ohio after the loss, for whatever reason (Ohio's RPI dropped from 29 to 34, but is still way ahead of the Vols at 59).

The talking heads on ESPN are not giving much reason for optimism right now. The mediocre P5s feast again.

Ohio is one of eight teams considered for the final four spots: Arkansas, Auburn, Indiana, Ohio, Princeton, Tennessee, TCU and UCF. Shortly after this, Princeton won the Ivy League's AQ spot so they are out of the debate, but it seems by what I can tell, there's just three other spots available after Drake's loss has them taking an at-large bid.

Looking at when this was released indicates that they already knew about Drake's loss.

ESPN's final Bracketology has the last four in as, in order, Indiana, UCF, Tennessee and Auburn, while the last four out are, in order, Ohio, TCU, Arkansas and USC (which apparently is out based on what the NCAA made public). Miami is among the next four teams out.

I know the men aren't looking at RPI anymore but there is no NET rankings for women. RPIs of the seven teams are UCF (15), Ohio (34), Indiana (48), Auburn (50), TCU (58), Tennessee (60) and Arkansas (67).

Massey's computer rankings put them: UCF (32), TCU (37), Auburn (38), Ohio (45), Tennessee (46), Indiana (51) and Arkansas (54).

I want the ladies in really bad. But I see it going to a high major conference.

Doesn't CMU get the NIT auto bid?

Is it NCAA or bust for the ladies?

CMU is considered a lock for an NCAA at-large, probably as an 8 seed. They had a very good non-conference season in addition to being the MAC regular season champs. So that puts Ohio, second in the conference, in as the auto-qualifier for the WNIT if they don't make the NCAAs. Probably several MAC teams will be picked for the WNIT.

This is like worrying about who has the automatic qualifier from the ACC in the NCAA and thinking that the team that finished second then has to worry. Jeez, the MAC is the 7th rated RPI league. It beats the American which is pulled way up by UConn. There will be probably seven teams the NIT and NCAA combined from the MAC.

4 of 7 seems like decent odds. I know we think sometimes they screw the little guy and UCF is a little guy of sorts but I think UCF has to be in. It is hard to see them putting in Arkansas but who knows. In the end it is quite possible that it ends up Tennessee, TCU, and Ohio for one last spot. Maybe the odds are more like 1 of 3.

The worldwide leader had a little screwup and released the brackets early on ESPNU. Tennessee, Auburn, Indiana and UCF are the winners. Ohio is out. The selection show has been moved up to 5:00 P.M. on ESPN2.
