Reading the article it is as if #2 did not spend a few years in an Ohio uniform. http://ohiobobcats.prestosports.com/sports/wbkb/2007-08/r...

I like that we are seeing several young alums as commencement speakers with Wes Lowery last year and Allie LaForce this year. Pretty cool.

Thought it was only 1 year, and played sparingly.

According to ohiobobcats.com she lettered in 2008 and 2009. Regardless, the writer missed the "rest of the story" which I believe the previous poster was referencing.

And, Al, she had a pretty decent 3 point shot.

Great News! I believe veteran CBS broadcaster Verne Lundquist took her under his wing. She has made it to the big time. One of the prettiest Bobcats of all time too.

As long as people keep using terms like mid-major and G5, it will be the lowly MAC.

Yes, changing that would be a start, even if a small one.

Well, considering Allie played basketball, MAC women's hoops DID get an at-large bid. Just sayin'.

And the two MAC schools in the Big Dance both advanced to the Sweet 16 by winning two games, including one against a higher seed from a major conference on its home court.

Well, here's mine. If only men's hoops were as good. And by the way, everyone in the MAC will have to step up their game on the women's side now that BG has hired the head coach from D-2 superpower Ashland...

Gabe Genovesi and I reached out to Allie and were honored to have her on our latest podcast for the athletic department. We interviewed her during her 20 minute Uber ride from the airport to her hotel in Toronto. She's a pretty busy woman!

She touched on a lot of topics with us:
- Her time at Ohio
- Speaking at Commencement
- Her work at WOUB and how it helped her career
- Mentors throughout and after college
- Game preparation
- The backstory about her interview with LeBron, and how much it meant to her that he stood up for her after all the negative comments about her Popovich question

I'm very excited to have her back on Saturday, this interview was a real treat for us!

Thanks for sharing this - fantastic!

EDIT -- I posted initially prior to listening to the whole interview. I came away incredibly impressed with Allie, and became a bigger fan of her work.

I'm sure I could google it, but can someone explain the Lebron interview controversy?

It sounds like some felt she blindsided LBJ with the question about the passing of someone he was close to, and she's been criticized for it. In reality, she asked him if it was okay to ask on air before she did so. In other words, it's probably a lot to do about nothing. Typical in 2018, right?

Exactly like OU_Country said, she asked LBJ about Popovich's wife passing with his permission, he said yes, and people didn't know that she had clearance from him to ask that question.

She was a true pro about the situation!

We got a shout out on TNT during Cavs game and played a clip of her speech during the blowout 4th quarter.

I saw that. Good stuff - and congrats Allie!

Ian Eagle even got on board with a "Go Bobcats" during Cavs game.

Ian was the play-by-play for the games in Nashville in 2012. Love his delivery.
