Actually I think that was a Xavier fan trying to troll UC and downplay the success shown in the video.

Some UC-slanted video

One notable player I don't see on the floor for us is Lunden Mcday.

Perhaps McDay’s defense was so good that there were no highlights?

Probably a very high possibility

It is a XU fan - I'd suspect not a graduate. 😉

Looks like AJ got some run in the scrimmage. Great experience for him to face more (edit: iin quantity, not quality) talented bigs. Didn’t notice IJ though... Like Mcday, he must have played such good D that there wasn’t film of him either. Yeah, that’s what it must be…

Arkley tweeted that he heard we held our own, consistent with what we already kinda knew. Apparently Ezuma made a bunch of threes.

This has to be a mistake, but maybe it's not. According to our schedule on ESPN's site, our Black Friday game against Concordia will be broadcast on ESPN. Like - the mothership! You'd think there'd be plenty of college football games to choose from, and there are. But Duke/Gonzaga the same day has an ESPN listing, plus two other time slots with teams TBA (neutral site tournament games) are slated for ESPN. There is a tournament game out of Las Vegas set to start at the same time as ours that doesn't have a TV listing, so maybe there's the mistake.

MAC vs NAIA can't be good enough for ESPN, can it?

Zero chance it is accurate.

If you go into the actual broadcast schedule on the ESPN site and look at upcoming games it only lists ESPN3 for the game.

Having games through the week is not as big of a deal for me, especially since I retired, as some on this board since I’m only about 75 minutes away. However, I do prefer Saturday games, primarily for the game day experience (and more daylight given the usual starting times). Since our number of Saturday home games is so low, I thought I’d do a quick comparison with the rest of the MAC to see if this is the general case in the conference. I also am offering some limited information about Sundays, Fridays and Tuesdays scheduling.

Below is what I found by utilizing team websites. The first number represents the total number of home Saturday games. The second, in parentheses, is the number of home MAC games on Saturday.

Ohio 3(2), Miami 7(4), Kent 3(3), BG 5(5), Buffalo 6(5), Akron 6(5), Toledo 4(3), EMU 6(5), CMU 6(5), WMU 4(4), Ball St 6(4), NIU 4(4). I did not include here home exhibitions, nor did I include games of teams at neutral sites that generally involved multiple games.

Regarding Sunday games, BG has two scheduled while Kent, Akron, EMU, CMU, WMU and Ball State all have one. The five remaining teams, Ohio included, have zero games scheduled on Sunday.

Ohio has three (two conference) Friday night games (high school basketball?). Five teams have two in total and five have one in total. CMU has none. In addition, we lead the conference, along with Kent State, in the number of Tuesday night games (boys high school basketball game night too I believe…at least in Ohio) with eight. Akron only has four and Buffalo has five for the lowest numbers in the league.

As one can see, there are some differences here that likely impacts the fan base and their ability to attend games, at least conveniently. Furthermore, it would seem to create an unfair advantage for the rest of the conference when comparing their attendance with ours. I’d be curious to know how much of this came about; especially the Saturdays piece of the puzzle. (NOTE: I realize schedules change primarily due to TV.

There's a real possibility that ours will become 1(0).

Thanks to CatsUp for the research. With the TV contract, as Shaba is alluding to, there's only so much that can be done with the MAC home games. My biggest rub is the rest of the non-conf games. There's not much of an excuse to me to only have one weekend game out of 7 home non-conf games. Throw in the SC Upstate game being at noon on a Tuesday, and this is a silly schedule for home games.

Re: the MAC schedule that Shaba mentions, I think in 2018-19 that BG had max of one weekend home game in conference play.

My complaint with the TV contract is the same as it is with weeknight football:

There is absolutely no reason that there couldn't be something written into these time slots that they can only move two games per school from a Saturday to a Friday night for TV. (OK, maybe three -- I haven't done the math on how many actual time slots there are.)

Point is, everyone knows that this absolutely sucks for the MAC Athletic Departments' ability to sell tickets, so why not come up with some kind of compromise? This is exactly the reason I question the capability of the folks in the MAC offices.

Add into that this thought: Until such time that ESPN+ is the primary means of watching games on ESPN's networks, games on ESPN+ should never be moved to an unconventional time frame.
