He's on the first year of a new deal. Additionally, how can anyone hold him responsible for the incredibly string of injuries?

Drops MAC opener to Akron by 13, had the lead at half and then lost the 3rd and 4th quarters. Big stat we being out rebounded by 19 boards! Next they play NIU.

Akron had only seven players available and got it done. Injuries are tough but with 15 scholarships available, you have the flexibility to build depth across the position groups. I can't get over how year after year we do not address our low post personnel. Akron has a 6'2'' freshman from Toledo who went 4-4 from the field, grabbed 11 rebounds, and blocked three shots. Quick look at her Twitter shows no offer from Ohio. You telling me she couldn't help? In fact, you all can tell I pay attention to basketball recruiting... we don't seem to make a ton of offers period compared to the men.

I caught some of the game stream yesterday. 500+ attendance listed in the box score. Whoever recorded that number is cooking the books.

I wasn't just talking about this year, but the general trend in the last few years has been a downward trajectory in the program. I'm not saying that I want him fired, but was asking if the natives appear restless or not. I do agree with the poster who mentioned his lack of even attempting to recruit a BigWOMANZ. His philosophy of concentrating on shorter, quicker recruits seems not to be as successful as it once was. Perhaps, we'd see more improvement this year without all the injuries, but even totally healthy, I'm not sure we'd compete for a MAC title.

Bobcats with a commanding win in Dekalb. And NIU has a winning record. Tabeling with a career high 28 points. Turnovers not terrible and we actually outrebounded an opponent.

The team appears to be getting progressively healthier. Mcwhorter and Jones returned in recent games and Laffler got in today. Does anyone know if we could see McClure back this season?

Had to do a double take when I saw we not only won but won big and on the road against a solid team. NIU started their season with a road win at Toledo, who was 17-1 last year in the MAC.

Maybe this will be how it goes...flashes of brilliance among the growing pains?

Hopefully McClure can get back soon. I am pretty sure Monica Williams is done for the year, unfortunately. Great road W at NIU, ladies!

Halftime lead and then big collapse or back to reality in the 2nd half. On the positive side. Quality espn+ broadcast for Western. 66-49 final.

First half was pleasant to watch. Only three turnovers and shot 50% from the field. There was great ball movement with lots of drive and kickouts and patient shot selection. I wasn't able to focus on the second half but as is often the case, we were not ready for the third quarter. And that's often it, recently. One quarter completely sinks the team.

Women fall to 3-11 on the season with a 15 point loss to Kent. Seemed to play well the first half taking a 2pt lead into the break. It’s that 3rd quarter that got them behind the 8-Ball in this one.

The first half was good and they played very well. You are right the second half you could see it just slipping away and getting sloppy. Plus KSU really started hitting the 3. Our shooting was bad at that point.

The women fall again, now 3-12, 1-4

Outside of Bailey Tabeling there really isn’t much to say. She poured in 27 of the 54 points scored and has had a great start to the MAC season.

She struggled against KSU and could of made a difference. Several had some shooting problems that night. They really need to get several people scoring and not just one.

Yeah, pretty one dimensional on the offensive end right now.

Unfortunately the women are on there way to a fourth consecutive non-winning season.

Bobcats get another win vs 0-8 EMU. Not real exciting and still gonna be tough to make it to Cleveland.

Did anyone see this season coming? We went from hot program to a spiral that seems to be getting worse.

The women snap a five game skid and beat NIU for the second time this season. They go 20/30 on two point shots which is an extreme rarity for this program of late.

Very much outside looking in though. They are a full three games back of the eight spot.

The cats lose by 19 at home to po-dunk WMU. We are of course eliminated from MAC tournament contention.

Up 40-39 at the half, Ohio was outscored 21-7 in the third quarter and 15-9 in the fourth. That is a common pattern and it would be interesting to see how often in the past few seasons we have been winning or within five at halftime only to be outscored by at least 10 in the third quarter.

Also, have we outsourced our game reports to AI? Read this crap - https://ohiobobcats.com/news/2025/3/5/ohio-womens-basketb...
