Shabamon -- outside of being a small backcourt, what are your reservations on the KDA/Mitchell combo? I've posted in other threads, but Mitchell had as many win shares as Pavs last season. I still think Pavs was the better player, but that margin is smaller than it appears.

KDA is a clear upgrade over Sheldon. If Siebe and Dusan (I share similar thoughts) are starting alongside the two with Javan, the dual 6'1 backcourt seems less problematic.

I haven't seen any new tidbits and/or follows of the staff outside 2027/28 prospects in recent weeks. I can't tell if we're done or not, but I'm hoping for some additional guard depth as well.

I would love to see this season true competition for playing time. Would be marvelous to go 9 or 10 deep with players having the energy to play such sticky defense that leads to exciting breakaways and runs and blowouts.

This team is already significantly upgraded just by getting rid of the stiffs who never improved year over year for two strait seasons and one new player who went Ivo on us even though he never played here before.

I guess that is why I got season tickets for the first time along with a koolaide chaser now that it is summer...

Usually I can track these dudes down like Nev Shulman, but I have no clue. Two kids in a trench coat? Walk on? Burris in a wig? Don't see any movement on socials. No skinny white guys jumping out as new follows on any of the usual accounts.

Preferred Walk-Ons typically report for summer workouts. However, we usually get an announcement from those (Carter Reese, Ben Estis, Chase Boals) in some capacity.

I'm hoping they update the roster soon. Whoever it is has been working out it seems. Maybe an under the radar transfer?

If it isn't a PWO, my only guess is its someone who is waiting on a waiver or approval that hasn't been/can't be announced?

In the post from June 16th, he's covered up by Che and barely peaks over him. So it looks like he's in the 6'5-'6'6/7 height range.

Mystery kid is more visible in the latest team golf outing post. No idea who he is, doesn't look anything like one of the incoming players signed.

online, Christian Trudic is listed as being from Chagrin Falls High and that he played basketball and football, mostly football as a kicker. one item says he was all ohio in football. Maybe more is buried somewhere in football info. There is also a photo of him in Ohio tee shirt and the word committed. This is kind of strange there isn't more.

Good find. Must be a walk-on, kid announced commitment back in April on his IG.

Not much else about him.

Are we sure Carter Reese is still on the team as a walk-on as well, or did Christian replace Carter?

Reese is with the team in all recent photos.

Trudic has to be the most under the radar prospect of all time. Nearly zero about him out there other than his coach going into his senior year saying something like he can shoot and will have a chance to contribute. Not exactly what I was expecting to read. He went to Run The Show Prep last year. Zero info about their results or stats. Maybe he's the next Jason Preston!

Here's what I have on Christian Trudic:

Spent last year at Run The Show Prep in Pittsburgh last year, in that same Prep School Conference as SPIRE, founded by former Akron player and Assistant Coach Steve McNees. He coached under Dambrot at Akron and followed him to Duquesne for 10+ years. Allen Deep is the other founder. He was also an assistant under Dambrot. Spent 5 years coaching in the NBA and G League for the Celtics and Knicks. Head coach of the team is Blaine Calhoun, also a former assistant at Akron, who also coached under Mick Cronin, while at Cincinnati.

So decent pedigree of coaching happening there.

"Run The Show Prep is a postgraduate basketball program based out of Cranberry Twp. Pa., just outside of Pittsburgh. The purpose of the program is to better prepare the athlete to play at the college level and get them re-recruited to find their college home. We focus heavily on player development and complement the training with a 30+ game schedule.

Our program is founded and run by former NBA and Division I coaches."

Christian was a better football player in HS. Seems like a classic walk-on who doesn't really have a true sport or true position. Found more information about football than basketball, because he was an All-State Kicker. (Hey John, Hey)

6'6" tweener forward who played the 4/5 in HS, because he's 6'6".

Averaged 1 point and 1 rebound as a senior.
https://www.maxpreps.com/oh/chagrin-falls/chagrin-falls-t... /

His HS Coach: “Christian has a unique skill set with his height, length, and ability to step out and shoot the three. With our lack of size, Christian will be asked to help us around the rim as he becomes more comfortable playing near the basket."

I couldn't find a single box score from RTS. Found numerous recaps, but none are very in depth. They had a decent season last year, and beat Spire the final game of the season.

At this point, it looks like an average walk-on scenario for this level. Maybe he was signed after that "try-out" situation they always do for students a few weeks ago? He looks the part at least. Bringing some decent size to the practice team.

Yes the roster currently stands at (per https://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/ohio ):

G Kyler Daugustino
F Javan Simmons
G Kolton Mitchell
G Jesse Burris
F Zay Mosley
F Kiir Kuany
C Moek Icke
G Che Brogan
F Jordie Bowens
F Seibe Ledegen
F Dušan Makitan
G Carter Reese

They have video and some pics up of the team. They do this every summer and every summer I get excited at the potential! D'Augustino looks huge. Simmons looks thinned down and Mitchell looks bigger than I thought. Mosley looks like a guy who has been busting it the past year so I hope he can be a part of this team. Guessing he was told as much because he stuck around. Bowens is rail thin still which won't help him.

On the other side of the weight spectrum, Kuany looks like he’s put on some real muscle. Interested to see if he can take a big leap this season similar to what Hadaway and Clayton did between their 1st and 2nd seasons getting real playing time.

Reese was a 3-year starter who scored over 700 points. It may have been at ONU but let's not pretend he is a typical walk-on.
