But the official team roster doesn't have him listed. Did it fall through?

Thanks. He's on campus and with team.

I think that they can't add him to the roster until all the paperwork is completed, and he's officially enrolled as a student.

Will remain one of the hurdles. He's more likely to run 7 guys with 2-3 entirely different guys on and off the bench from game to game than run 9-10 at thinner minutes consistently, and boy do I hate that.

I hate to keep saying "on paper", but honestly - on paper - has Boals ever had a team that appeared to be this deep? We're not talking about Fisher, Kuany struggling to get minutes w/ Kelly finding his footing. We're talking 24 year old European pros. I mean, I really don't know much outside what we've seen in highlight tapes, but you gotta think the learning curve needed for D1 basketball has significantly tapered off and these boys are ready to run. I think our floor is significantly higher than in years past based just on the level of experience alone. But maybe I'm just overshooting it. I don't know man, but I'm almost as excited as I've ever been for a season. And coming off one of our recent worst... overly optimistic might be true. I'd love to see them use Ohio State as an early season measuring stick again.

You've captured my thoughts quite well. I've gone from a leader of the "Fire Boals" crowd to thinking he's probably the MAC COY the year next year with the talent he's assembled.

[Philosophically, I think COY awards should not go to the coach with the most victories, but to the coach who got the most with the least talent and/or the most trying circumstances. But, in reality, that's not the way the award is usually given at any level. Case in point, switching sports, to me Jack Lengyel will always be the COY for 1971 with but two victories in the first post-crash season at Marshall.]

�Probably the MAC COY next year.� Hoping that statement proves accurate but you realize that this team under Boals has never finished better than three seed and most seasons is a five seed. Miami and Akron have talent also and how many times has Akron ended up behind Ohio the last several seasons in the standings?

I may be over-estimating the talent on this team, but sometimes good talent can cover a multitude of coaching sins. Also, Akron has a new coach and Miami sucks.

I'm of the belief that having Pav returning (if in fact the courts allow him one more year) is nothing but good news for Ohio hoops.

I'm curious, however, if one of two between Sheldon and Hadaway is returning to Athens for one more season, who would BA be more interested in if you had to select one? It's a no-brainer for me, but I'd like to hear other opinions first.

Some things to note from that pic:
1. Pavs got stronger
2. Javan thinned down
3. Che looks like he is genuinely happy all the time
4. Dusan looks way taller than expected
5. Kuany always looks happy too which is awesome for this team
6. This team just looks like it will be fun to watch. LET'S GO!

I'd be curious to learn with all these guys who are into their 20s and playing ball for these professional clubs overseas, what does coming to America, enrolling in college, and playing ball in the MAC do better for them?

Bolstering resumes for big euro club contracts would be my guess. European ball has a lot of ladders and tiers. A lot of these kids start playing low-pro ball at 16 and stay within a larger system for years. So likely trying to step outside that ladder system and show what they can do with minutes. Probably think there is a better opportunity here, better training, more eyes, more access, the whole shebang.

Same reason people from America end up in Europe. New experiences. Six figures to do so. Some of these european guys have only ever seen COLLEGE on American TV shows, now they're being sent to one of the biggest party schools in America. That's gotta be a trip.

It looks like the international players are on the roster page on ohiobocats.com now whereas they were not a week or so ago. I assume that this is because they weren't enrolled until now. Pavs is still, unsurprisingly, not on the official roster even though he apparently, per the picture, is with the team. Lawsuits pending, I presume, as mentioned earlier in another thread.

Moek Icke is listed at 7'1".

I also notice, although it probably doesn't mean much, that Dusan Makitan is listed as #13 which I think Pavs wore the prior two seasons.

Victory you are correct about the lawsuits. They will continue for weeks. The NCAA has no idea who will be playing in November.
