I always liked Young and thought he was underrated. If we weren't getting KDA already I would have loved to see him in the Green & White. A bit surprised he made a lateral move, given he could have been the focal point at Akron for the next few years.

Elijah Elliott posted some pics on IG, he's in a North Florida Ospreys uniform. No caption, so not sure if it's a done deal or just a visit.

Boals called this one after he torched us in the Convo. Said something like "That Blyden kid is a player, will be interesting to see where he is playing next year."

Similar to the Sharron Young/Western Kentucky move. Almost seems like they are transferring just to transfer.

Bowling Green Kentucky is not a very interesting town.

Myrtle Beach sounds like more fun.

Hey, for a few weeks it claimed to be the capital of Kentucky as part of the CSA reb government. However, as soon as Union troops arrived, this "government" had to go on the run and traveled with the Confederate Army of Tennessee (not to be confused the Union Army of THE Tennessee). The rebs later briefly occupied Frankfort and tried to install their illegitimate government there, but their "inauguration" ceremony was interrupted by General Don Carlos Buell's Army of THE Ohio and driven back behind Confederate lines. General Buell by the way was from the nearby Lowell, Ohio, in Washington County. So, that seems a pretty interesting history to me. I hope like my creative use of quote marks! ;-)

When is the last time you were there? Other than the Vette Museum it's pretty boring.

By the way Suder is in the portal last minute for an unrealistic try for a 5th year of eligibility he 98% chance won't be getting. Others are trying that trick too, like Tyler Nickel, Cade Tyson, etc

Good players who have seen their last NCAA action most likely.

With all that great history and a great museum how can it be boring!

Also, the shame of it, but I do have one Confederate in attic that I discovered a few years ago who was part of the Bowling Green rump legislature. His name was Walter N. Haldeman, and he's my 2nd cousin, five times removed. He was the editor of the Louisville Courier, the leading secessionist paper in the Bluegrass State.

The Lost River Cave tour actually does sound unique.

On the other hand, a LaQuinta Inn is rated the 3rd nicest hotel in BGKY by Trip Advisor.

I was at our game there vs WKU and liked how they renovated the arena.

Are we sure this is accurate? Asking because Paveletzke and Hadaway are also now listed as "transfers" according to Verbal Commits. Seems to me like nobody can tell the difference between players graduating and those who actually still have eligibility left.

This is just my theory, but I know that the NCAA was considering adopting a new model in which players would have a 5-year window of eligibility, essentially allowing them to play 5 years instead of 4 if they didn't redshirt. I'm speculating that all these seniors we're seeing "transferring" are really just putting their names out there in the off chance that this model gets approved in time for next season.

However, this seems exceedingly unlikely, as the D1 Cabinet met a few days ago and decided to table the rule change for the time being: https://www.ncaa.org/news/2026/4/15/media-center-di-cabin...

Worth noting that Kent played Portland last season and Williams put up 20 points on them on 7/10 shooting. His game logs are very up and down with 5 20+ point games and 7 with 4 or less. The overall consistency and EvanMiya impact metrics weren’t amazing across the season, but there is clear upside.

There’s a few distilleries in the Bowling Green area and a Buc-ee’s in Smith’s Grove. Could do worse.
