A See is the only choice but the administration isn't that smart when it comes to common sense. Ohio Basketball coaching searches vs Ohio Baseball coaching services aren't on the same planet.

Before anyone jumps to stir things up, I have not spoken to A See in years. As a couple of you mentioned, he would take a pay cut and does he want to come back to his alma mater after they kicked him to the curb? I have no idea on either of the above.

If you want alumni back in the mix, A See is also the choice for that objective. Let's "See:"

Alum - Check
Pitching Expertise - Check
Experience with high level programs - Check

Why would they make such a mistake and talk to him? Stop.

From D1 Baseball....

Ohio is already on the prowl for its new head coach after parting ways with Craig Moore last week. The Bobcats are coming off a tough season, but do have a few things to sell as a program. Former Kent State and Georgia head coach Scott Stricklin is considered a top-shelf candidate for the job, but the Bobcats would have to come through on multiple fronts to land someone of his caliber. Other names are also surfacing on that front. Wright State recruiting coordinator and associate head coach Travis Ferrick is a name to watch for this vacancy, while former Creighton assistant and current Minnesota assistant Connor Gandossy is another name I expect to get a significant look. The Bobcats will likely engage with more candidates, and we will provide updates as they become available.

Come home Stricklin. I can’t believe how young relatively young he still is. Could easily coach a decade here.

Stricklin would be awesome, kind of like a Solich hire with the added twist of him being born in Athens. His Kent teams were as dominant of a decade as we've ever seen in the MAC and years of SEC experience in invaluable.

Has he not worked at all the last 2 years? Since we all know family plays a big role in these decisions...I believe his kids are 22, 20 & 17. Oldest was a cheerleader at Georgia and just graduated. The middle child is a catcher for Auburn, did not get much playing time his sophomore season. He might be looking for a new school to call home? Youngest still has 1 year of high school, so may be 1 year earlier than he had planned to jump back in.

I'm not sure why they ever tagged him as the "associate" head coach if they decided they would go outside the program and bring Smith in. If I recall, there wasn't much change in the day-to-day from a players perspective so he must have taken on some additional responsibility from Carby in the office that wasn't visible from my POV.

He would be a great fit but something tells me its too obvious of a choice to work out that way.

Diamond Cat is spot on about all his comments! See is the obvious choice but not sure this administration is thinking that way! This administration has bungled things more than once.

Looks like Andrew See is expected to be named the new Head Coach of Ohio Baseball.

So will you now congratulate the AD on her choice?
