"Bad hand" ?
He's been on staff, including as OC for how many years ?

These are players he recruited and developed.

"Institute what he wants" ?

Your post makes it sound like Albin just stepped on campus, when he was named
head coach.

As I said, he's been on the staff, including as OC for years.
His coaching staff has been here too.

What/who are going to change ?

He's been running pretty much the same offense for years.
(Old dog, new tricks)
For how long have people been calling for his head as OC ?

As far as recruiting, there doesn't seem to be any positive signs
of any kind there.

Given the exodus of players into the transfer portal, it seems a number of players don't have confidence in him turning things around either.

Keeping him will only perpetuate the damage to the football program.

If this is implying that Tim would make small or even significant changes to the program and turn it into something of his own style, I'm all for that. I'm still just not sure how good of an in-game coach he really is. Was he being held back by Frank and it's gonna take a season or two to see his own fingerprints on the program? Who knows. I'll give him a chance simply because I don't think Ohio should buy him out, but I need to see some progress and proof-of-concept.

And next year's OOC schedule does him no favors. Depending on how improved FAU gets under Willie Taggart in the offseason, we could be looking at a 1-3 start. And the recruiting needs to get ramped up in a hurry. Both high schoolers and the guys already on scholarship.

/QUOTE]Wow...Ohio has one subpar season in the last decade and change and now we're talking about 5-10 years of misery??? This is the same kind of laughable nonsense you see from Ohio State and Alabama fans after they lose a game. Come on people, this program is still in great shape. There's a ton of talent, a lot of great young players that hasn't seen much of the field yet, and much of the staff is still here. Sure this season had some hurdles, like an unexpected coaching move late in the game. But Ohio isn't going anywhere and it will be a contender again next season, and the one that, etc. Have some faith, all the success this program has had is worth at least that much from its fans after one subpar season.

I see we are playing Nostradamus again. So far your record of predictions is not all that great. You need to learn the trick of guys like Nostradamus who couch predictions in vague language that can allow for mulitple interpretations. Also, I don't know your age or how long you've been associated with Ohio University as a fan and/or alumnus (or alumna), but I'm guessing you didn't experience the Bryant/Lichtenberg eras, and maybe not even Knorr years. If so, you wouldn't be so cavalier with your pronouncements.

"Great shape" compared to who/what? We just had a losing season and have little in the pipeline. Please identify 3 specific reasons / areas of the program that you feel helps categorize us as in "great shape"

Really? From what I see we are lacking at many positions, especially key positions such. as QB. For example, if QB was so solid why did we screw around with a platoon system? Please identify the top 5 "ton of talent" players / positions. Also, if we had such a "ton of talent," why did we have such a poor season?

OK - please name 5 players that have not seen much of the field yet, that you feel are game changers. Also, please tell us why said talented players did not play this year when we certainly could have used players with a "ton of talent"

You say this as if it is a positive. It is not. We have a staff overseeing a program that over the past few years has at best leveled off and at worst is currently off the rails. Why is "much of the staff is still here" a key to our success going forward from your view?

You identify things in vague, positive terms. Please provide specifics to back up your enthusiasm - I'd really like to know. Thanks you.

Also, Unless I'm crazy, OhioBobcat blamed the ease with which Miami was scoring in the second half on a lack of talent and not on the coaches.

Hope none of you who said, "Can see Akron beating Kent" didn't then lay some cash on that feeling.
