The roster shows we have 5 QB's.
It seems unusual that a team would carry 5 QB's, NO?
Something has to give.
This leads me to believe that some are injured, planning to leave, being red shirted, or are going to be moved to another position. What is it?

Is Beeler on scholarship? If not, we have a walk-on and a true freshman in the QB room and the other three have already been through a fall camp. Honestly, with our QB play the last couple years and 85 scholarships at our disposal, I'm totally fine with carrying four scholarship quarterbacks. I don't consider Kurtis as cemented as the starting quarterback, so this much competition in this year's camp is a good thing.

I agree.

It should be and hopefully will be open competition.

When two such learned football minds agree on a subject, who am I to disagree? Here's to open competition and may the best man win!

Just going by what we saw in Spring, it looks like Kurtis as the far and away #1 with CJ Harris and Parker Navarro battling for the underutilized Armani role.

I doubt Parker transferred in to redshirt or be the 3rd QB, so I'm guessing that leaves Harris as the odd man out.

Kurtis - #1
Parker - #2
Harris - #3

Wither - Freshman from Canada ->> Redshirt
Beler - Walk-On

I'm more intrigued by the RB situation.

Ross and Allison have been around so long I think they both played with Calvin McRae. And Sieh Bangura, former 3-star for Dematha, had offers from Maryland, and FIU... Arkley thought he might actually be the starter.

Bangura should be the starter.

Allison has proven to be capable and should get his share of chances?

The elephant in the room is Ross.

Is he a WR or a RB?

Was he the dude who lost a game for us with a sideline penalty?

Will he stay healthy enough to even play?

Don’t get me wrong….I’ve heard he’s a decent person….he just needs to step up or step out.

If Bangura surpasses Allison, we have a great 1-2 running back punch. Allison is a rock solid MAC runner. With Fisher decommitted and Tuggle gone, Ross is a good in case of emergency break glass option.

Oh man, we really need two or three running backs in the next class.

I would think you see a mix of the two with spot duty from Ross. Bangura really showed explosion in limited duty last season.
A lot of questions on the offense. But some quality talent. As intriguing as the RB room I have no clue who starts at WR and the TE room is really interesting. Some talent there but such little experience. I really like Burton and Foster.

Always good to have some strong TE play. I'm hopeful about the WR play, despite the lack of experience.

- Pitre (?): I believe he is gone now. Had really high hopes for him. Looks like hes now on the Southern roster.
- Jacoby Jones - JUCO Transfer. 1000 yards receiving for Northwest Mississippi (same conf as EMCC of Netflix fame)
- Rhone - 6'5" had a good spring, had offers from Cincinnati, Arizona State, FAU, Iowa State
- Walton, Bostic, and Cross are all back.

Bonus: Brian Smith having been Associate Head Coach at Washington State and Hawaii should help the offense.

I feel optimistically about this team. I know I shouldn't, coming off last year, but in my view this is at least an 8 win Frank Solich team, heading towards 2023 title contention.

Now lets just see what kind of Tim Albin team it is.

TA seems to have the horses and the coaches.

No excuses this year.

His evaluation after this year should include nice turn around or there’s the door.

Two excellent WRs might help him stick around.

Rodney Harris has the size and speed to be a star.

Sam Wiglusz was a high school star stuck in OSUs WR room. His freshman pic showed 6 WRs and Sam……all 6 with him are in the NFL.

Beeler not on scholarship.

We will have four this year. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s the same number as most of the last few years.

2022: Rourke, Harris, Withers, Navarro
2021: Rourke, Rogers, Harris
2020: Rourke, Rogers, Harris
2019: Rourke, Rourke, Kaszie, Mischler
2018: Rourke, Maxwell, Kaszie, Mischler
2017: Rourke, Maxwell, Kaszie, Duckworth
