Late in the 3rd quarter, BC leads Edmonton 46-7. Nathan is 28/31 for 430 yds and 5 TDs passing; four carries for 24 yds and a TD rushing.

The Canadian Football League folks are very excited about Nathan’s amazing year. So far BC has only beaten also-rans. The big test comes this next week when they play Winnipeg again. If he keeps this up, the NFL will come calling. I don’t think anyone has draft rights for him so he could potentially choose the best opportunity.

Maleek Irons had a rushing TD for the losing team late in this game.

The Lions were picked at or near the bottom in the preseason. What Nathan is doing is amazing. He’s made less than 10 starts and looks to be so at ease. Last night was ridiculous in the 1st half.

- Rourke ended his night with 477 yards, breaking his own single-game record for Canadian quarterbacks that he had set back on June 25 of this season.

- His 91.9 completion percentage was the highest ever in CFL history for 30 or more pass attempts in one single game.

- Completed 23 of 26 passes for a remarkable 386 yards and five touchdowns in the FIRST HALF

- Finished the game with 23 consecutive completions

What’s amazing to me is that the receivers didn’t drop one of those last 23 completions.

Unlike most QBs that earned a chance in the NFL while playing in the CFL, Rourke is Canadian. He is set to make about $550,000 this year according to one site. All backup QB's in the NFL make at least a little more than that and some make 10 times that. But he is probably going to get a pay raise in the CFL. As he is becoming a very popular Canadian athlete endorsements might be coming his way as well which, I would think, would be less available as a NFL backup. I wonder what it would take to get him to jump to the NFL. One would think several million and a good chance at a starting quarterback position. Athens having ties to both QB's in Cincy is probably not a realistic possibility. Maybe if the Steelers think Pickett looks like a bust we might see Burrow vs. Rourke twice a year.

--- On a unrelated note if you are a fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers you have to be looking back at that cancelled 2020 CFL season and think that it was about as sure of a bet to a championship as football seasons ever get. We'll see if one-loss BC can do any better against 9-0 Winnipeg the second time around.

Wild to think about, but Nathan has played more downs this young year than former Mountaineer QB Gino Smith has since he came into the NFL almost 10 years ago. Gino will make $7,000,000 this year and Nathan is locked into a contract, where if he is lucky he will make $500,000 this year and next. Wow! I hope Nathan gets what he deserves in the near future. You never know when a serious injury can occur.

Seems to me there might be some other potential NFL candidates (coaches, trainers, etc.) who have impacted Nathan’s development.

If Nathan can become the spokesperson for the CMC (Canadian Maple Council) there is no way he's leaving the CFL for the NFL.

Maybe it’s my active fantasy life but wouldn’t it have made more sense for the Browns to take a chance on our Ohio based quarterback than squander millions on a known sexual predator who may never play a down for them?

According to WFAN, given the number of women who have settled ,and that the arbitrator who made the decision said it involved "non-violent sexual assault" the most logical resolution to this mess would be a settlement.

Consensus is the suspension would increase to 10 games.

completely different game. Which is why almost no CFL quarterbacks migrate to the NFL anymore. He’ll do well (great) there, make a lot of money and have a lot of fun. Kind of like some of our basketball players playing in Europe. What’s great is the CFL games are broadcast here so we can watch. he’s gotta be the early heavy favorite for MVP. keep it up!!

QB migration to the NFL is difficult but not unprecedented. Would love to see Rourke in that group but the best situation may be the current.

I don't know how the NFL works with under contract CFL players, but someone is going to give Nathan a chance next year.

Subpar game for Nathan. He started slow and finished "only" 39 of 53 (73%, below his 81% average) for 488 yds (I think another new record), 2 TDs but 2 INTs (one was miscommunication as his receiver broke off the route). He also had four carries for 8 yds and 2 TDs. The Lions came from 17 points down to win 41-40 on a FG with five seconds left.

He had a few overthrows, but in his defense his receivers dropped some easy ones, too.

It was a new record for a Canadian QB for yardage. The BC offense started off terribly which is why he had to keep throwing to bring them back form 20 points behind.

It was a foot injury, and he was wearing a walking boot after the game. Hopefully it's not too bad.

It's a foot sprain that required surgery. They hope he will return before the end of the year.

Too bad, but I'm glad the prognosis is good.
