If Finn doesn't play in the MAC Championship, Toledo is toast in it. I still think Ohio will beat UT even if a rusty and injured Finn can even can play. But if he doesn't, they'll get rolled. CJ Harris has proved in two games he can not only fill in for Rourke, but he adds a different wrinkle with his running ability. Ohio is still running the same schemes with him. Toledo doesn't have the run game at RB like they did last season and Finn was a big part of their run game this year before he went down. With Finn Toledo could hang around but will fall short. Without Finn, no way.

Harris is extremely good at hitting the hole, especially on sweeps. He's better than just about every QB we've ever had and even a lot of RBs. In sweeps against BG he'd hit the hole and be two or three steps past the nearest defender before they knew it. He has the kind of vision and speed that can't be taught.

Finn tried to go vs WMU. Went 5/11 for 35 yards and 2 Interceptions including a pick six before being shutdown for Gleason. Gleason’s been pretty bad too. Throwing mostly vacant area turf balls (no receiver anywhere near them). He’s 9 for 23 now.

I watched it, and one thing is very clear, Toledo is toast. They have major problems at QB and have lost 3 of their last 5 including back to back games, and their season is spiraling out of control. Talk about entering the MACC with your tail between your legs. Ohio is going to stomp them.

Toledo's offensive line got dominated. Neither QB had much of a chance. Finn was back in a walking boot in the second half.

Anyone want to play guess the line on this? I'm normally game but I'm going to throw up my hands and be glad that it isn't my job to set it.

All this optimism scares me! Finn could get healthy in another week. Other injured players could return. Toledo could be really motivated after losing those last two games. I hope that this plays out the way you guys are saying, but I'm not counting my chickens before they are hatched. Go OHIO!

Their MAC losses are all only by 6 or 7 points.

A high ankle sprain does not heal quickly. If you remember 2006, Everson got one in the second to last game. He tried to play in the MACC, but was taken out after three series. He did play in the bowl, but even then he was not completely himself.

It is looking like it will be 3rd string QB versus 3rd string QB, but we will see.

Fifth time the charm?

#1 face the Central Michigan Chippewas finishing their season at 10-4
#2 face Dan LeFevour and the 8-0 Chippewas
#3 take on Chandler Harnish and the 11-3 Huskies
#4 game on with the 13-1 PJ Fleck Broncos and the power 5 bowl participant

#5 meet the 5-3/7-5 Rockets and their ?th string QB

Some times it is better to be lucky than good.

Go Bobcats; lay 40 points on them and have the game secure by the end of 3.

I think it's gonna open at Ohio -4.5 and move quickly to Ohio -7.5 or more.

That's consistent with TeamRankings, which says Ohio has a 46% chance of winning.

Ironically, I looked at the Toledo board to see what they were saying about the game. The only thread related to the MACC game was "Boycott the MACC Game". The other threads that were active were "Fire Candle!!!", "Brings needs to address the 800 lb Gorilla" (i.e. Fire Candle), "Is it too early to start the Fire Candle Thread?", and "Brian Blair, this is for you" (i.e. Fire Candle).

This is our 5th MAC title game but only the 2nd time we'll be the better team coming in... I think. I thought we'd do more offensively in 2009... that was disappointing but ultimately I thought CMU was better. The thud in 2011 was an all-timer. we jumped out to an early lead with trick plays and an uncharacteristic plethora of interceptions from Harnish. Once they quit shooting themselves in the foot, our offense did zilch. and NIU did not have a good defense that year. all-time thud.

2016 we weren't even supposed to be in the game, so that was fun just to see us give ourselves a chance with our defense.

I don't get the overconfidence about Toledo. This game is so full of unknowns. and that includes our own CJ Harris. We have no idea what Toledo is learning from his first start and how they will decide to defend us.

Fans may be overconfident..

I don’t think the players will be.

For us Harris is the unknown yet after seeing him agains BG I think he’ll be fine. Smart athletic dude whose teammates believe in.

Mistakes by the team that loses probably decides this one.

I am going to say it again: there is something different about this team. It’s not over confidence, I think it’s what Albin means when he refers to them as “a bunch of over-believers”. That being said, I agree that the winning team will be the one making the fewest mistakes. More importantly, being the named home team, what uniform combo will Ohio choose?
Go Bobcats!!

Through most of the season, Toledo looked definitely superior. With nothing on the line two weeks in a row, the Rockets haven't looked good. Many are not putting much stock into what Toledo has done recently because of that. Plus, again, Ohio is playing a third string QB.

I see, I think its going to be tough for them to just flip the switch. I like Ohio at +4.5 and love them at +6.

Any MAC game can go anyway. However This team does feel special. The fact that we are facing the rockets I think we should go all black and suck them into a black hole or all white and invade their rocket with our stormtroopers. Could also make their rockets land into our Forrest and wear green. Tough decision. Go bobcats! 😺

Bottom line to this game will be our Defense. They MUST step up and keep them from getting big plays and keep the scoring down. Our D has done a good job of this in the last few weeks, but must do so again for us to have a chance.
