The interesting thing about the current situation is that, of the four teams at 7-1, three of them (BG, Miami, and Ohio) control their own destiny. WMU needs a little help, in the form of a loss by either Miami or Ohio.

After research, we need WMU to beat BG....

If Ohio can get to 7-1, Ohio goes to the MACC game. The following are all possible:
1. Everyone else could falter, and Ohio could face some 6-2 team
2. BG could defeat WMU and Miami, then Ohio could face a 7-1 BG team
3. WMU could defeat BG, and BG could defeat Miami, and Ohio could face a 7-1 WMU team
4. Miami could beat BG, in which case Ohio could face a 7-1 Miami team. In this case, it doesn't matter if WMU also finishes 7-1 as Ohio would eliminate WMU via the tiebreaker.

You are correct good sir!

I guess the question I should ask is which team would you rather play against if we win out?

Give me Miami in a rematch for the title.

Good stuff folks.

Be interested to hear why you want to face Miami. I get that nothing would be finer than to rub their noses in it for beating us the last few times, getting that championship ring too, but they looked pretty dominant a few weeks back against us. BGSU could be had any given week because they always don't bring it and WMU's defense is bad at times.

We should beat EMU and Ball State at home but there is probably gonna be a devil to pay to beat Toledo on the road to get to 7-1, although I am more optimistic about the possibility of a victory over the rockets than i was a few months back.

It's hard to beat the same team twice in the same season. Plus, who better to beat to end this drought. Two former MAC East teams making the first POD type championship would be pretty neat too. BG would make a great game too but imagine Big Ben from Miami in attendance at Ford Field as well as our alum (Mike Mitchell, etc). Give us great commentators and let the sparks fly. But as we all know, we have to go 1-0 over the next 3 weeks.

A lot of good points there, like your thinking. And it would be amazing to beat Miami to end the title drought. Very cool.
