Gene Thrailkill Dies

Turned OHIO's marching band into the 110 Marching Men of OHIO from its former self into the "Most Exciting Band in the Land".

He adopted the current uniforms, re-branded the name to what would eventually be labelled as "The Marching 110", implemented the high-step style, started playing pop music at the shows... Among other things, he essentially set the foundation for what the 110 would become and will be for many many years.

The 110 is a major element of the Ohio brand. It could be argued that the band "saved" our football program from total irrelevancy inn the 1980s, early 1990s, late '90s, early 2000s...
