All of the red might be behind the covered part of the logo. I didn't know Texas Tech released its schedule but I am not surprised. I also wondered about playing the first leg of a home and home with a Horizon League school when we have already done that with Detroit. But this logo is probably wider than it is tall and has a back outline with a right angle in the upper left and probably a white outline inside the black. YSU seems to be the best fit for this in D1. Since it is away we can bank on it being a D1 opponent.

The fact that we have to even try and decipher the schedule like this is ridiculous. Just release the full schedule.

Yes indeed. This "suspense" is kinda silly.

I'm glad you're having fun with it :)

If this isn't gutted by TV game movement, this is the fan-friendliest conference schedule EVER for Ohio. Saturday home games against Kent, Akron, Miami, and Central plus a Friday night game vs BG. Saturday away games at mostly easy fan commute opponents in Akron, BG, and Miami, another at Central. Now, the home games against Kent and BG sit right in the middle of move-in/move-out for spring semester and break.

Downer is no Emoni Bates sightings in the Convo.

Was hoping two against EMU as well. For what it’s worth, Toledo is still looking for another non-conference game. So, it isn’t just us.

I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 of those Saturday games you mentioned are moved to Friday night. The only way they won't is if we suck. Neither option is appetizing.

Yep. I'm hoping at least two of the three hold on a Saturday. I won't hold my breath. TV essentially screws up everything college sports related anymore.

EDIT: There are also some pretty appealing road trips at BG and at Miami on the weekends.

+100. Also gutted we don't get to play Bates in the Convo. That Buffalo game will be highly interesting though.

The 14th. You can see some orange peeking through. Wondering since it’s at the Lightning arena if there’s a little more complexity to it. It’s listed as TBD on Florida’s side as well.

Expect the Kent and Akron games to wind up on Friday nights. CBSSN seems to have a fetish for them.

If I recall, though, it is actually at a "neutral" site, Amalie Arena in Tampa, but we'll see if that holds. I might not be finalized yet.

For a short while the MAC was the only D1 conference that kept its divisions in basketball. However, a couple of conferences, I think that the OVC was 1, kept the same scheduling format where you played the same 5 teams twice every year an only a couple of the teams twice that were formerly in the other division. We play all of the East teams twice. I wondered if this was the scheduling format but it appears to be a fluke in OUr case.

We’re talking about the same thing. Lightning arena = Amalie Arena. Side note — unless Butler adds more games, doesn’t look like Matta is doing Boals a solid and scheduling is. Butler schedule released.

Nearing September 1st and still no full release of the men's basketball schedule.

It's truly a tradition unlike any other.

The last two that we don't know about seem to be open spots we have not yet scheduled. There is no date attached to those events nor is there a home/away designation. All other December dates have some of the date showing due to the length of the word December. I'm guessing the last two are not anywhere near complete.

The podcast indicates a home game is the first question mark and also notes the last unknown game date as Dec. 21 but doesn't say home or away.

I wouldn't make a big deal out of this. That School in Columbus only released theirs this week. As of this writing, the Michigan St Izzos have not released theirs either.

Florida to Meet Ohio at Amalie Arena on Dec. 14

TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 31, 2022) – Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., will serve as the site for a non-conference matchup between the Florida Gators and the Ohio Bobcats on Dec. 14. Game time and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

The contest marks the fourth all-time meeting between the Gators and Bobcats and first since facing each other in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament. Florida owns a 2-1 lead in the series.

Intersport, a sports marketing and events agency based in Chicago, will manage the operations for the event. The agency also owns and operates the Fort Myers Tip-Off, which features two four-team men's fields – the Beach and the Palms Divisions – and will introduce a four-team women's field for the first time this year.

"Coming off a successful fourth edition of the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off last season, which ended with Florida winning the Beach Division title, we are excited to extend the relationship with the program and new head coach Todd Golden into this year," said Mark Starsiak, vice president at Intersport. "As we continue to expand our portfolio of basketball events all over the country, adding another basketball experience on Florida's Gulf Coast is a great opportunity for us to bring more great college basketball to fans in the greater Tampa area."

Golden arrives in Gainesville after three successful seasons as head coach at the University of San Francisco. He guided the 2021-22 Dons to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998 and a 57-36 overall record as head coach.

Ohio looks to build off a strong 2021-22 season under fourth-year head coach Jeff Boals, who guided the Bobcats to a 25-10 record and second-round appearance in the CBI Tournament. The Bobcats' 25 wins were their most in a single season since 2013-14, when they also won 25 contests.

Game tickets go on sale to the public on Sept. 28. Fans interested in attending the game can register to receive direct email alerts regarding ticket news and other event updates at www.amaliearena.com/gators . Those who register for these ticket alerts will be eligible for access to an exclusive one-day presale beginning on Set. 27.

Same applies to UD and the A10, and Cincinnati and the AAC. Probably plenty of announcements coming in the next week or so though.

At Delaware December 21, according to UD's schedule release.

https://twitter.com/DelawareMBB/status/1569325001836199937

Delaware was last year's CAA champion and lost by 20 to 2-seed Villanova in the dance. Clearly one of the better adds to our schedule. I assume this is home/home.

Love the Delaware add. Did a little research while eating lunch. It returns leading scorer Jameer Nelson Jr. and 3 other top 7 scorers — including CAA ROY and added an 11 ppg transfer from UMBC. Should be a solid/fun game.

I believe Nelson's dad was the nation's POY while at St. Joseph's. Saw some time in the NBA.

Saw some time? He played 14 seasons in the NBA, made an All-Star team, and would be on the shortlist of retired jerseys for the Orlando Magic if the franchise did that.
