Rourke will start for BC in the regular season finale on Friday. It is against Winnipeg but the Blue Bombers have nothing to play for. They have wrapped up the best record in the league. I don't know if BC needs to win to wrap up the two seed. I think the went 4-5 without Rourke and I'm sure that they would like to try to rediscover their mojo. But I doubt the Rourke is 100% yet so we'll have to see how they play it.

BC was 8-1 with Rourke. After going 0-2 with their existing backups, O'Connor and Pipkin, they acquired Vernon Adams from Montreal, and were 4-2 under Adams.

Other Ohio players in the CFL:
AJ is #7 in conference in rushing, with 516 yards in 98 carries. He also has 38 receptions for 350 yards, including 293 yards after catch.

Irons has 73 yards in 19 carries, and 4 receptions for 21 yards.

Papi White has 45 catches for 309 yards.

Casey Sayles has 32 tackes, 5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.

Irons retired and is no longer in the league.

His LT is out. That isn't what he needed.

Rourke threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-16 win over Calgary. The West Final against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be a tall order with Rourke still hobbled.

BC wins, 30-16. Nathan was 22-30 for 321 yards with 2 TD. Now they have to face Winnepeg again, who has been dominating the CFL this year, with a record of 15-3. BC has the second best record in the CFL at 13-6 after the playoff game. In earlier games between BC and Winnipeg:

7/9/22 Winnipeg 43, BC 22 (Nathan 16-25, 278 yards, 3 TDs, 2 Int
10/15/22 BC 40, Winnipeg 32 (Nathan out)
10/28/22 Winnipeg 24, BC 9 (Nathan 7-11 for 68 yards, only played a short while)

BC Lions QB Nathan Rourke, who led the CFL this season in passer rating, is set to begin working out for NFL teams next week. I had this conversation with a friend, but even if someone offers him a roster spot - I think he has to take it.

CFL isn't going anywhere. Even being the face of the CFL, which he is already becoming in his young career, unless Lululemon makes him the face of the mens line, I don't think Canadian brands can pay what even the NFL minimum is.

CFL had a $5M salary CAP last season. Average player makes between $60,000-$100,000.

Will be a tough decision to go from playing at an elite level in the CFL, to NFL 2/3rd QB... but the money should help. Would be incredible chance for him to see what he can do.

(PJ Walker is making $895,000 this season.)

From what I remember hearing, this is the story. Rourke is heading into the third year of a 3 year rookie contract that pays in the range of $80-90k. He will likely get one of the top contract in the CFL when that contract expires (~$500k) next year. However, that tookie contract gives him an out to go to the NFL without a penalty. He will only be missing out on the $85k and can return the next year for the big (by CFL standards) contract. The smart choice is to try for the NFL this year.

A report in the Vancouver press says he has been contacted by 20 NFL teams. Has two workouts scheduled and two more behind that.

Apparently, catching the flu delayed is workouts. His first was with the Raiders a few days ago. More are scheduled. Anyone else thinking that the 49ers should be looking at him now?

Baker Mayfield is available again. If I’m the 49’ers I’m looking at Rourke before Baker, although I do honestly admit my bias.

Two very different games. 49ers won't look to him to be part of their playoff run. May be option to be signed and stashed on someone's practice squad for the balance of the season. Not sure how that works with CFL contracts though.

Seeing some people say Nathan might sign for a team this year, but I believe I’ve seen on Twitter that he is unable to sign with an NFL team until February, so all these looks are for next season.
