The timing is exactly as a good AD would make this change it in my opinion.It gave him enough time to complete due diligence and plan for next steps. Picking today - a date w/ compelling tournament games keeps the spotlight off. Moving forward, the timing is good to finalize the hire by the coaches' convention, or tap the final candidate there. Also gives Coach Ford time to have conversations at the convention about other positions - head, assistant, etc.
