It'd be a shame if Akron got knocked out of first this Friday.

How much of a crowd are you expecting for this one with it moved to Friday night? Living out of state, this will probably be the only game I get to attend this season. Hoping for a good one!

Seems to setup nicely for us coming off a win over Miami in front of a good crowd. Could really use a fired up crowd for this one!

I've seen crazier things happen.

Thanks! This is going to be a great weekend that also includes OU hockey, Casa Nueva, Salaam, Tony's, Jackie O's, West End Ciderhouse, O'Bettys, the Farmer's Market, and a Hocking Hills hike. A win over Akron would be quite a highlight.

I expect a good crowd but last weekend was helped quite a bit by it being Sib's Weekend and the need to find something to do Saturday afternoon.

Yep. Plus, last Saturday included vocal Brazilian group, ROTC, no high school games conflicts, more travel time for out of town fans, less “college life interference”. 6,200 if we’re lucky I’d say. Would love to “eat my words” though.

We had nearly 9K in the building last year for a Friday game against Akron and that was after many casual fans saw us take it on the chin at home against Toledo.

Going to be a big game. Tried to get a BlackOut organized for this but unfortunately had to delay it to Buffalo. Otherwise, will be promoting the hell out of this game and begging my peers to come. Would be a shame if Akron suffered a second loss in a row >:)

We were also 23 - 4 at the time of that Akron game and the Toledo thumping was a month removed.

Castaneda has been hot, over 30 points in 3 of their last 6 games. Over 22 in 5 of those 6. Dwight can't get in foul trouble if we expect this to be a winnable game. I think it will take one of our best efforts of the year to get a win tonight. A 3rd guy is going to have to be a meaningful contributor to Hunter and Wilson. AJ Clayton, Ben Roderick, Elmore James, Miles, Devon Baker, someone has to step up. Does anyone know about AJ Brown's availability?

Boals said last night on his show with Russ that he expects AJ Brown to play tonight.

Amazing. Can we get more of him, Dwight, EJ4, Jaylin, and Miles on the court at the same time? A la our five best players.

This is going to take another good game from Jaylin to pull off the upset. Have to limit TO's and only allow one shot on the defensive end.

They might have the best 1-2 punch in the league with Freeman/Castaneda, we will have to slow one of them down.

Typically with this team I think it comes down to guard play, however, I'm leaning towards this game being won/lost in the post. Somebody else mentioned that we need Dwight to stay out of foul trouble and I agree. That may be the key to this game.

ESPN match-up predictor says 54.2% OU... 45.8% Akron.

More than a little surprised by that.

Gonna need some mistake-free basketball and a big game from (take your pick).

Well. first of all thank you all for coming back in town for this one. And hopefully a neat weekend in Athens! I would love to see 6,500-7,000 in the Roundhouse tonight.. In perspective, that would over sell-out the Jar/other MAC arenas. I want team energy tonight. Something that has been iffy this season. Yet the fellas not "over-hyped". Pressure on the back-court, and DW3 get healthy mins. we could pull this one off.. GO CATS!
