Had hoped to meet Pops and go to Miami together but we found out Sunday night he has a brain tumor and that be operated on Tuesday.

Time for a prayer for COop and the fam. More when news is available

Remembering him as he goes through surgery. Enjoyed getting acquainted with him when DJ was on the team.

thanks for the prayers. Through my own experiences I am positive all the folks lifting thoughts was the key to surviving.

Surgery at 3 pm today to remove the tumor. Praying all goes well and a full recovery is in order.

Hope he is well enough to travel by the end of season. We (I ) need a trip to Athens ......Badly!!! GOod for the mind, good for the soul.

You didn't say a trip to Athens is good for the body. I believe that was on purpose.

I never ceases to amaze me how close the families of the Freeman-Cooper-Keeley-Baltic-McKinley-Taylor-Kellogg-probably-leaving-somebody-out-and-it's-not-on-purpose era grew and remain in touch.

I don't know that it happens to this level anywhere else.

Get well, Coop!

I think it happens more than you think. The players aren't the only ones knee deep in the journey. Even though the families are from very diverse backgrounds they have all traveled similar paths and have many shared experiences. It's almost a built in support group.

Glad to hear he is doing well. I hope his recovery is as painless as possible.

Spoke with Coop tonite. Started Rehab today and is doing well. Happy to hear that he was in our prayers. Said to tell everyone "much love" and he "misses athens and all the bobcat fans"

Talked about the next few weeks and wanted me to text the schedule to him tonite to see when we can get to a game. Life is good.
