Miami and BC makig up a game. Locked at 66 all with BC having the ball. Been interesting this second half.

double ot. still interesting. Players fouling out left and right. Good effort on both teams with an extra day of getting ready.

BC just cant make the key bucket to win the game !wide open lay-up to win and the ball just will not go in from point blank range.

1 and 11 in the ACC. Should have stayed at Kent State. We wouldn't be in the mess we're in this year.

There would be an incredible amount of messes avoided. Creighton comes immediately to mind.

We would've avoided a couple messes by hiring a certain coach now in Indianapolis...

Early on the announcers mentioned that MiamiF plays better on the road than at home because road crowds are bigger and noisier than MiamiF crowds, and it gets the Canes fired up. They probably felt right at home today. Lots of empty seats with the game being played at 3:00 on a Monday and Boston snowed in.

The old "bad ball" excuse. I've heard that one before -- but not often. That old ball, you know, it never lies. ;-)

There are cases where I think the Convo is a disadvantage to us... many of our most frequent visitors are not used to playing in front of people and such. I believe we take a lot of teams best shots when we're at home.

Forest Cat...I agree with your thought that the atmosphere of the Convo can often bring out the best in our opponents. I can promise you that the excitement of our crowd, our band, and our history does influence how other teams play here. Some kids and teams don't respond well to this setting, but most good teams and good players tend to rise up and play well ! The noise level and the excitement tends to lift players from both sides. There are exceptions of course. I had one teammate who was wide eyed half way through Stand Up and Cheer and needed to hit the locker room before player intros ! Needless to say, he never really played very well here!
The atmosphere of the Convo is critical to the success of our program. Kids want to play in an environment like ours. It makes the games more fun and exciting for everyone. When things are not going so well, the Bobcats need the help of our home crowd even more than when we are 15-0 or whatever !
We will need all the help we can get from our crowd against Kent State this Saturday afternoon to help the cause ! Be there ! Go Cats !

I agree but I would always want to be the team with the proverbial target on it's back. If you are Muncie Central, Kentucky or whomever ....you better be ready because the opposition is going to be coming at you every night be it at home or on the road.. Through a season of getting the best shot the opposition has you should be ready for the tourney run.

If coming to the convo gets them up then we better be ready. Creating that culture is where we want to be anyway. It's part of building an enduring legacy and a place where athletes want to be as was said above.
